Also giving pronunciation lessons: DeKalb (second syllable like taxi cab) County; House-ton County; Al-Bane-y.

I found out from watching CNN that DeKalb and Gwinnett are actually pronounced duh-KAB and gwin-ETT, not duh-KAHLB and GWIN-it. Good thing no one on Atlas could hear me mentally mispronouncing DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Albany counties! I already knew about House-ton from someone on Atlas though.

Great! Now try Dacula, Dahlonega, Lithonia, and Martinez.

don't forget Taliaferro!

Grrrrrrr that county is hateful. It should be f!cking tah-lyah-FEH-rroh in Italian and instead it gets pronounced like "Tolliver". Damn it.

wtf...university regents in Michigan are elected statewide!?

I don't want to hear anyone from Michigan ever give Mississippi a haranguing that we still elect county coroners, lol

Every state in the United States has totally absurd elected positions. I mean in the USA you f!cking elect judges and sheriffs.

The "Here's how Trump can still win" game that the networks are playing is actually extremely unethical and dangerous. They're framing this like it's a football game or something that Biden came back and won in the 4th quarter. All of these votes were cast on or before election day, and we've been able to project the results of PA and Nevada (and possibly Arizona) for over 48 hours now. They're playing right into Trump's desire to delegitimize the election.

Most of the big networks want four more years of Trump for ratings, this shouldn't be a surprise. They are a repulsive group of people.

I would bet ready money that, nel segreto della cabina elettorale, more than one of these CNN and MSNBC talking heads who have become famous for talking about how evil Trump is have voted for him twice now.

Nel segreto della cabina elettorale Dio ti vede, the owner of your TV show no.

Democrats went from holding 87 of the 100 largest counties to 91 of the 100 largest. We are getting there. Who knows we may be at 96/100 come 2024 unless that bipolar county with two names pulls something.

Which are the ones we're not winning yet?

Looking at you, Jim Wells County!

My favorite two-name county has to be Deaf Smith County.

Inappropriate and very non-PC, GM.

*Very* rude.  The most rude.

Actually the most non-PC county in Texas is Jeff Davis County.

Networks refusing to call the election is the equivalent to sticking pins in a Trump voodoo doll. Drag it out. Wait until Monday. Make Donald and his children drown in their own sweat.

No, it's the equivalent to sticking pins into the American people.

I have personal connections in four of those five counties (all but Ontario). The Upstate New York swings seem almost tailored as fanservice for me and my close friend group personally. You love to see it, folks.

Maybe this post of yours was premature:

I know, I saw your above post. I'm still grieving places like Northern New York being gone for the Democrats and most of far northern Honshu being gone for the Japanese center-left, so I'll probably be salty about Umbria for a while as well.

Hopefully it's premature for Umbria too Sad Smiley

lmao. Only the best people!

(tbf I'm sure there plenty of mega-HPs on Democratic slates too, just lower-profile ones.)

Eh, the ones on Democratic slates don't share the dubious distinction of being the first Atlas poster to kill someone (hopefully they don't share the distinction of having killed someone in general lmao).

He was active between 2004 and 2005, but I don't think I am allowed to link to his profile.

Oh, Jravnsbo? I think I remember him, didn't he rage quit the forum due to the creation of Fantasy Elections?

Ah so we can mention his (user)name? I have no idea how or why he quit, as it happened 15 years before I joined.

Ravnsborg might share this, uh, crown with Yates, if you count pseuicide as "killing someone".

I don't know who Yates is. Is he that guy who managed to get elected President of Atlasia only to reveal he was actually a sockpuppet or something like that?

OH FINALLY. I have some bets to honour:

If Biden does not break 60% in Rhode Island, I change my avatar to R-RI and my display name to "I Was So Wrong" for a week.

He's at 59.4% - you can already change your avatar and name ...

Well yeah, but I prefer to wait for the result to be official. At least he won by more than a 20% margin.

The return of the horrid ultra-light blue color.

Ultra-light blue is not horrid, but you'd do everyone a favour if you could set blank states at a darker shade of grey.

Definately, but I'm a mean person so I won't

The only mean thing you do is keeping spelling "definately" instead of "definitely".

(sorry for the IndyRep moment; it triggers me as much as it triggers him)

I am just going to quip that I strongly want this thread to break the round magic number of 20,000 posts before it gets locked.

Also, I would not have expected New York City to swing Republican so much (although there were signals).

What's the Atlas consensus on exit polls? Do y'all think AP, Edison, or Navigator was the most accurate? I remember people were saying AP most accurately predicted state results.

Personally I take all exit polls with a huge grain of salt, but judging from the image you attached AP seems likely to be the most accurate.

By the way, it feels crazy that more than a month has passed since Election Day and a couple of states still haven't certified their results.
The Electoral College votes on December 14th, if I recall correctly, so in eight days.

In the meantime let's try to reach page 800 before this thread gets locked, like we did for the "Veepstakes" thread and its page 300.

2020 US Presidential Election County Map

Biden won Inyo county and lost Monongalia and Oklahoma counties.

Biden also lost the counties of Jefferson, Kleberg and Nueces in Texas, won Haywood County in Tennessee, lost Beltrami County in Minnesota... there are many, many errors on that map.

I don't like empty quoting* but we gotta get to 800 pages so just do something.
I am looking forward to the Electoral College vote tomorrow, which is actually today using Italian time. I doubt there will be any faithless electors.

*now that I've said that 100% chance this post will get empty quoted

If Ontario County, NY, has flipped in the end, I am now struggling to decide if Inyo is still the most surprising Democratic county flip or Ontario supersedes it.

Only the third time ever it’s voted Dem!

Indeed. It had been a bit closer in recent elections though (Obama in 2008 lost it by a hair) while Inyo took a sharper turn this year.

I have to admit I was kind of sad that there wasn't even a single faithless elector this year.
Faithless electors in small doses are fun.

Does anyone know where I can find full data for Nebraska's and Maine's congressional districts?
