Quote
Vice President Mike Pence became uncharacteristically angry on Wednesday during the siege on the Capitol, according to Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma.
"I've known Mike Pence forever," Inhofe told reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday night. "I've never seen Pence as angry as he was today."
"I had a long conversation with him. He said, 'After all the things I've done for [Trump].'"

It goes to show just how blinded by his office Mike Pence has been that after four years he still had not learned that loyalty with Trump is a one-way street.

My gut says the cabinet won't remove Trump. Either out of cult loyalty, fear of removal, or future political aspirations. The latter especially for Pence.

And what is stopping Trump from firing ever cabinet member?

I initially read that as a "one-way tweet". Smiley

I seriously doubt they will. Only question now is how long will it take for Congress to realize that and impeach him.

The virgin "America would be better off if Trump was removed"

The chad "The fabric of our democracy and the principles of our republic are under attack by the President. Enough is enough. President Trump should resign or be removed from office by his Cabinet, or by the Congress."

Hogan:

That he was accompanied by men wearing military uniforms to make a political announcement is very, very telling.

He's trying to purge his cabinet to avoid the 25th amendment. Impeach him today!

All that's needed is a majority. A majority of no one is zero.

This would obviously go to the Supreme Court and I can't imagine they would want to set the precedent that any future Democratic President could use.

Schumer is firing the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms.

How?  Until the two Georgia winners and Harris' replacement are sworn-in as Senators and Harris is sworn in as Veep, McConnell is still Majority Leader.

Interesting enough it looks like they could disqualify Trump from holding future office with a majority vote.

Of course, someone would have to try prosecuting him to set up the court challenge first.

I had this question a couple weeks ago and I don't think I got an answer--can anyone be preemptively pardoned? I mean, someone must be convicted of a specific crime before being given the get-out-of-jail-free card, right?

I just took the comment you replied to as meaning that Schumer will fire the Sergeant-at-arms upon becoming Majority Leader.

Is the process for removing a president in need of an overhaul, or do the people around him need to find some courage? The 25th was written more with ‘debilitating stroke’ in mind, rather than a resistant POTUS with bad intent, likely undergoing a mental breakdown

No, they don't have to be convicted; see Ford's pardon of Nixon.

Regardless of what happens - anyone have a growing anxiety of inevitable violence because of how far the QAnon theories and bullsh**t have gone?

I'm sickened to say that I'm just naturally a Republican, and I want to think the party has a future outside of Trump, but that future must not involve destroying our country over his loss.
