So what are everyone’s official predictions?

The committee is called to order, the witness comes in, it's someone nobody recognizes. Liz Cheney says "we understand you have some information regarding efforts to overturn the 2020 election." [Witness in an altered voice] "I do."

The witness then does the Tom Cruise face peel to reveal Donald Trump. "My fellow Americans, the storm is upon us."

The committee reacts in shock, armed agents swarm in and put them in handcuffs. Cameras pan in on Trump. "You didn't think I'd want to miss out on all the fun, did you?"

But actually if I had to make a guess, I know Ali Alexander gave a bunch of testimony recently, and he seems like someone who could at least overturn new stones that haven't been looked at before. So maybe some other Proud Boy who has flipped and has receipts about direct communications with other important people?

I don't think it's Ali Alexander because he made it clear (Truth Social) that he only testified to the grandy jury because of a subpoena, and he said he told them he didn't commit any crimes and didn't witness anyone committing any crimes.

Most likely it's Mark Meadows.

This is the most plausible guess I've heard so far.

If it's Meadows then it's a damn good thing Garland didn't charge him.

They should promise to do a Masked Singer-esque reveal. That'll get the attention of our goldfish-minded population.

Somebody thinks it's Anthony Kennedy.

Is he going to apologize to the nation for retiring under Trump?

The witness has to be massive for them to do this.

A few reports and rumors on Twitter this morning:

1. Hutchinson has changed lawyers since giving her initial testimony (of which some video has been played in the hearings).  Previously she had a lawyer provided by the Trump team, but now has her own.

2. She is reportedly cooperating much more fully with the committee than before the lawyer change.

3. The urgency of the hearing and secrecy about her identity was due to a "credible security threat".

4. It's rumored that she knows a LOT and was present at key meetings.  A couple of commentators have suggested that she could be "the next John Dean".

One wonders what Hutchinson said pre lawyer change or refused to say that she started saying post lawyer change. Was she previously claiming executive privilege or something that she claiming? It is strange because her testimony on video from her deposition has already been shared by the committee.

This all falls under the "I'll believe when I see it" umbrella.  The various witnesses and testimonials given across the past five years frequently offer stunning revelations through nuance, but I have learned to temper my expectations when it comes to committees looking into Trump-related matters.

Yes, and let's face it Republicans and conservatives have changed dramatically for the worst since 1974. At the time most were willing to eject Nixon do to clear wrongdoing. Here Trump has gone far above and beyond threat to American Democratic institutions and the Constitution itself from his actions throughout his presidency even compared to Nixon and Watergate and the enemies list etc etc, but still about 45% of Americans won't budge, and will still gladly support a Neo authoritarian party that seeks to defend such undermining of our democracy because inflation is bad.

Agreed.

She could come in with video footage of Trump himself aborting a baby at 9 months and Republicans wouldn’t bat an eye.

“I don’t agree but I’d vote for him if he’s the nominee.”
