It seems excessive to keep bumping the original thread, so I'm making a new one for any news on arrests, investigations, and court cases related to January 6th. I think we'd all prefer one thread to a new thread for every update while also not making the original thread hundreds of pages long.

Some recent updates:

Meanwhile, the guy who broke into Pelosi's office:

Also from Los Angeles Daily News: Former congressman Dana Rohrabacher breached Capitol police barricades on Jan. 6

Quote
Newly released footage from the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol shows former Orange County Congressman Dana Rohrabacher joined a crowd that crossed police barricades, making him the highest profile politician known to be on the ground that day.

Rohrabacher is not among the 500-plus people who’ve been charged with crimes connected to Jan. 6, and there’s no evidence he entered the Capitol building or participated in any of the violence that unfolded.

He didn’t respond to requests to speak for this story, though he told the Press Herald in Maine that he marched peacefully Jan. 6 and “was not there to make a scene and do things that were unacceptable for anyone to do.”

But online critics also are pointing to a speech Rohrabacher gave during a “Stop the Steal” rally in Huntington Beach a few weeks before the insurrection, where he referenced the Revolutionary War and told the cheering crowd that “Communists” were trying to “take control of our government.”

‘This is your crisis, patriots,” he said in video posted to his Facebook page. “…It’s all up to us.”

As I mentioned in the other thread, Scott MacFarlane (https://twitter.com/MacFarlaneNews) is the person to follow for progress of the various court cases.

I have buyers remorse on Merrick Garland, I said that Doug Jones whom was a US Attorney should of been the FBI Director, he knows Congress and wouldn't defend Trump

I was right about Merrick Garland, he is no different than Mueller

Lol:

Daily Beast: ‘Vanilla Kind of Guy’: Lawyer Roasts Capitol Rioter in Bid to Keep Him From Jail

Quote
Russell Taylor, a 40-year-old from Ladera Ranch, is among six men federally indicted last week on a slew of charges, including conspiracy, for their role in the Capitol riot. Prosecutors allege the group, which contained at least four Three Percenters militia group members, arrived in D.C. armed with weapons, bear spray, and two-way radios in preparation for the siege.

...

Prosecutors argue Taylor joined a “mob of protesters” to attack law enforcement officers attempting to secure the Capitol—while armed with a knife—and he should be kept in pre-trial detention.

But his defense team had a different theory on Tuesday: the family man simply had too much time on his hands during the coronavirus pandemic and acted out.

“He’s kind of boring, this is probably the most exciting thing that’ll happen in his life,” Taylor’s lawyer, Dyke Huish, said during a Tuesday detention hearing. “Really he’s kind of a vanilla kind of guy—though admittedly he was upset about the masks.”

Huish describing his client as “moderately successful,” and a religious man who doesn’t drink and went to Brigham Young University. He insisted that Taylor’s actions during the insurrection were unique and spurred by his anger over the state-wide lockdown and mask mandate. He denied that Taylor is a militiaman—just that his documented violent actions were misunderstood.

Here's the NYT report without a paywall. Lots of new footage and context.

One interesting suggestion from this video is that House Staff and security giving Rep. Jim McGovern the go-ahead to continue with hearing objections to Arizona's electors in the House after the Senate had already been evacuated and rioters were in the building directly contributed to the death of Ashli Babbit by ensuring the evacuation of the House took place much closer to the front of the mob than it otherwise could have.

Things are going very well and sane and normal and HOW DARE YOU for this particular defendant:

A Pennsylvania woman who allegedly stormed the Capitol and told a police officer to “bring Nancy Pelosi out here now… we want to hang that f—king bitch” has filed court documents claiming to be a divinely empowered entity immune from laws.

Pauline Bauer, a Pennsylvania pizzeria owner, is accused of multiple counts of violent entry, disruptive conduct, and obstruction of Congress after she allegedly broke into the Capitol on Jan. 6. Prosecutors allege that Bauer tried organizing buses to transport people to D.C. for a rally that preceded the riot, and that while in the Capitol rotunda she told police that she wanted to kill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

But in what experts describe as an inadvisable legal strategy, Bauer has demanded to represent herself in court, appeared to threaten a court clerk with prison time, and declared herself a “self-governed individual” with special legal privileges.

Bauer does not simply appear in court, she clarified during a June 11 proceeding via Zoom. “I am here by special divine appearance, a living soul,” she told a judge that day, while stating that she did not want an attorney.

“I do not stand under the law,” she said. “Under Genesis 1, God gave man dominion over the law.”

Unfortunately, with Trump being held unaccounted for abd Clyburn himself said Trump won't have to testify and fencing companies ming down, this isn't much anymore D's can do on the Insurrectionists Commission

The D's like Biden is wasting his time going to Philadelphia instesmad of going to AZ or WVA to campaign for VR in Sinema and Manchin home state

The best way for D's to investigate is Covid and Chija, FBI has already exhausted it's legal proceedings against the Proud Boyz

"with Trump being held unaccounted"

He's missing? Did he flee to Moscow? /\

That video posted above (and thanks to the poster that put it up) that the NYT produced is at once riveting and terrifying. I want Trump to be behind bars one way or the other, really, really bad. He has no redeeming value. Calling posters here HP's is hyperbolic jive, calling him one is an understatement.

Clyburn said as a former Prez Trump doesn't have to testify, before the Commission even began, and the Senate, Klobuchar and Blunt already issued a joint report on the Insurrectionists

The insurrection was a big deal but it was against the rich Politicians not is, that's why the fencing is down, the Rs demanded it and in order for Pelosi to secure more funding for Cops she has to FOLD, PELOSI FOLDED ON THE FENCING NG NO DOUBT, SHE WANTED THE FENCING UP, SHE SAID MANY TIMES

THE COMMISSION TAKES AWAY FROM Covid 19 hearings, the FBI already said there isn't enough evidence to charge anyone with inciting a riot only the ones that actually went inside the Capital

China needs to pay us back for all the Covid deaths

She remains an avid Trump supporter who can’t understand how or why any of this is happening.  At this point, "insanity" is in the eye of the beholder.

The full article makes that clear, yeah. Conspiracy theories about name misspellings, threatening court clerks with prison for daring to discipline her, the works.

This is gonna go the same way as impeachment did, there is no smoking gun on Trump, the FBI said there is enough evidence to charge any Trumpians on inciting a riot and the fencing is already down

Pelosi charged Trump with inciting a riot in the Article of Impeachment no big deal about this Commission, it doesn't have any power to charge Trumpians with crimes just like Impeachment didn't remove Trump from office

Roll eyes

But, it will hurt Rs Electoral success, they won't win the S and we don't know about the H yet

Thank you for posting this.
It is completely eye opening, to the horrific violence these trump supporting bastards produced on our Capitol and to the officers defending it.
May they all rot in a prison cell.    Every.Single.One.Of.Them.

Feds arrest 5 family members from Texas in new US Capitol riot case.

Five members of a Texas family were arrested on Tuesday for entering the US Capitol together during the January 6 insurrection.

Federal investigators pointed to extensive social media posts from many members of the family in order to make the arrests on Tuesday, in one of the largest single-day sweeps of defendants in one Capitol riot case to date.

A judge has released a rioter into house arrest, finding him too stupid to pose any major threat to society.

Doug Jensen, a QAnon conspiracy theorist who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 in support of former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, was ordered released on home incarceration by a federal judge on Tuesday. Jensen, who was among the first rioters to enter the seat of the legislative branch of the federal government and chased U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman up the stairs leading to the Senate, believed that he was at the White House, which is the center of the executive branch.

U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly said that Jensen’s conduct was serious, but that the threat Jensen posed to the community could be mitigated through strict conditions of release. Under federal law, pretrial detention is supposed to be a last resort and implemented only when there are no other conditions that would ensure public safety.

Judge Kelly cited Jensen’s lack of a grade-school level understanding of the U.S. government in his decision to release Jensen. Jensen, in Jan. 6 videos that were released to the media on Monday night, repeatedly stated that he believed he was at the White House.

“This is me, touching the f--king White House,” Jensen said, with his hand on an exterior wall of the U.S. Capitol.

“Storm the White House!” Jensen screamed in another video as he panned up to the Capitol dome. “That’s what we do!”

Judge Kelly said that Jensen couldn’t have preplanned or coordinated his actions on Jan. 6 because Jensen “had no basic understanding of where he even was.”
