By my count there were 157 days remaining before the election at the start of June. If Biden raises an average of $100 mill a month for the next 5 months (conservative estimate IMO) that is over $700 mill available or $4.5 mill a day and that's not counting outside groups. Both sides will have more money than they can effectively spend.

This. Fundraising isn't a good indicator of anything except maybe base enthusiasm.

The Ontario NDP has sort of maxed out the "base" of inner cities/labor/Indigenous.  But it is weak in the GTA suburbs where elections are won.  The Liberals are the stronger party in exactly the areas where the NDP needs to win, so they can't credibly say "if you want to defeat the PCs, you have to vote NDP" in these ridings.

In 1990, the NDP winning map is something that can't be emulated today.  The NDP didn't do very well in the "905" belt.  The "905" didn't have the significance it did now (in fact the 905 area code didn't come into effect until the early 1990s - it was under Harris that the 905 became politically significant).
And it won all these rural areas often due to vote-splitting on the right.

I believe the NDP did quite well in the 905 belt in the 1990 election.

Well, as part of a generic univeral wave of higher/competitive shares.  But they only won seats covering Durham Region/NE York Region and the N part of Halton Region.  Nothing in Peel whatsoever (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon), nothing in York Region other than the aforementioned NE...

Oh yeah, you're right. They swept Durham. I incorrectly thought that a couple of them were from Mississauga/Brampton.

Netanyahu on US soil? Biden has the opportunity to do the funniest thing.

It would in fact not be funny to kidnap a foreign leader and start a war with a nuclear ally.

Stein. He was elected & reelected as Attorney General even as Trump won the state in 2016 and 2020.  There will be ticket splitting that does this again for the Governor race while keeping the General Assembly in Republican hands.

I think the wording of a question like this can really push people in one direction or the other.

it just doesn't make any sense, if you have the power of healing and are not using it regularly you're a very very bad person.  Worse than even the kind of garbage human being who would lie about it.  Only someone with mental health issues would believe this and I'd imagine most of them are already voting for her.

I think people who believe in faith healing are not a particularly left-wing demographic.
hey that's great that you think that.  Any data?

I don’t know, man, you’re the one who said most people who believe this are already voting for her.

Here's his 17-minute scene from JFK:

It is blocked here, but I can provide a four minute clip:

There is a Chinese saying that says "人算不如天算" or "Human calculation will be bested by Heavenly calculation"  which is an assertion of chaos theory where random and unexpected events will sometimes trump the best plans.

The adventure of Tribal leader and INC MLA Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya who was the MLA of Bagidora in Rajasthan is an example of this.

Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya started politics in the pro-BJP youth organizations but then joined INC and became a long-time leader there.  He became the INC MP of Banswara in the late 1990s  but has since served as MLA of Bagidora since the mid-2000s.

His latest 2023 assembly result in Bagidora
INC               45.7 (Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya)
BAP               27.1  (tribal)
BJP               20.3

This election cycle he wanted to run for MP of Banswara again and decided to defect to BJP with a large part of the INC organization in Banswara.  He resigned from his assembly seat which also led to a by-election for his assembly seat Bagidora to be held at the same time as the LS elections.

The INC was so demoralized that it worked out a deal with BAP that it would withdraw its candidates for the Banswara LS seat and the Bagidora by-election to support BAP in return for BAP support elsewhere in Rajasthan.

Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya who still has deep INC roots here counted on getting the INC candidates to rebel and refuse to back down.  The Rajasthan INC disowned these two INC rebels but their name will be on the ballot as INC candidates.  Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya then arranged for 2 candidates with identical names as the leader of BAP Rajkumar Roat who is running in Banswara.

The result was a debacle for the Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya-BJP alliance with the BAP winning both the Banswara  LS seat as well as the Bagidora  assembly by-election.  There was an anti-BJP tribal wave which consolidated the INC and BAP vote.

Banswara  LS
BAP              50.2 (BAP leader Rajkumar Roat)
BJP               35.1 (Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya)
Ind.               4.6 (also called Rajkumar Roat) - funded by Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya
INC                3.7 (disowned by Rajasthan INC)
Ind.               2.6 (also called Rajkumar Roat) - funded by Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya

Bagidora  assembly by-election
BAP              60.5
BJP               35.1
INC                4.4 (disowned by Rajasthan INC)

So after all those maneuvers, Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya ended up with a big zero after betraying INC.  He lost the LS race and his old seat assembly seat was also lost to the BAP.
