There is a Mayor of the West of England? Ridiculous country.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough is even more ridiculous, Cambridge and Peterborough are over 40 miles away from each other. At least the 'West of England' is basically Greater Bristol (the boundaries of Bristol city really should be expanded but that's a whole other issue) plus Bath and a handful of other towns (Yate etc.). The name 'West of England' is hilariously dire though as it could mean practically anywhere in England west of Oxford.

Trump forms his own 3rd party and takes his minions along with him. That's opens up the GOP to be a Bush 43/Romney-style party again. Obviously, this isn't going to happen though.

It's Lean D for now but I wouldn't put it entirely past the GOP to pull another hat trick.

This race is the safest Governor's race in the country for the Democratic Party. No realistic combination of candidates could result in the Republican candidate being competitive. Maryland was already one of the bluest state's in the country, but then stampeded further Left partially due to demographic change. It has the accelerating demographic change of Georgia and Virginia but that's less noticeable because the state was already so blue.

When it comes to electing "moderate" Republican governors, Maryland is not Massachusetts or Vermont or even New Jersey. Larry Hogie is only the second Republican to win two terms in the history of the state. Of the 40 times the gubernatorial elections have been since the end of the Civil War, Republicans have won the state just seven times. This isn't chest-beating - Hogan will be the last Republican governor for a very long time. Maryland went 35 years between electing Agnew and Angry Bob, and Agnew only won because he broke 70% in MoCo against a segregationist.

A MDGOP can win in 2030 or 2036 if MD taxes are through the roof---and they want checks and balances......

In any case, nothing to see here. Safe Warren in the primary and the general. Odd that the Politico article frames this as "surprising"; I think it would be a lot more surprising if she weren't running again.

I think it's just a combination of the facts - as the article portends - that she's been spending the last 2 years trying to get out of the Senate (e.g., campaigning for President, & then trying to be Biden's VP & then Treasury Secretary) & that "insiders" were of a general belief for some reason that she was keen on having Pressley succeed her in the seat.

For those of you keeping track at home, the laws of wokeism are as follows:

Putting a teenager's private information on every news network and calling him a white supremacist because of the look on his face: OK

Mildly disagreeing with an 11-year-old who voluntarily chose to be on national TV: NOT OK
The media didnít go far enough in smearing that Trumper if you ask me.
What exactly did this kid do? Wear a hat in front of someone and smile? Don't mistake your political tribalism for genuine moral virtue. Remove the trappings of the situation, and what are you left with. You want a kid to be further smeared by the media for doing what exactly?

He was being mocking and condescending. Either you aren't educated enough to see that or you are just an enabler of poor behavior.
A child acted immaturely and so we should have the media further run him through the mud? The kid may be a d1ck but that doesn't warrant the f##king circus that went around this nonsensical case. YOU are the enabler of poor behavior if you think the proper response to A KID being mocking and condescending is to have the full force of the news media industry plaster this kids face everywhere and call him some kind of horrible, colonizing racist for wearing a stupid had and smiling like a little sh1t.

Who. The. Hell. Cares.

Calm down.
