I mean, this was quite obvious.

Many parts of the Black Belt in the South are very rural, yet Democrats still win 80–90%+ of Black voters. Barely any Asian people live in rural areas, lol. The more rural parts of South Texas, which is majority Latino, did shift to the right in 2020 but overall the area still leans Democratic. Also, it's just one part of the country. Many other rural areas with a significant Latino presence didn't really shift much in other states. Meanwhile, urban Latinos (except in the Miami area) are still overall solidly blue.

It seems like there's a rural-urban divide even among non-whites but it just isn't as strong as with whites. Even with black people, urban blacks in the north east seem to vote democrat at especially high rates (>95%) whereas it's probably more like 80-85% in the rural south.

You Americans are obsessed with race, in a way no other people are.

Well, I'm not american. And no, everyone is obsessed with "race" or some race equivalent parameter (like religion or ethnicity). Some countries are just less hypocritical about it.  Igbos for example aren't gonna vote in the same way as hausas in Nigeria (even if they live next to each other). Same with whites and Arabs in France, or Jews and Muslims in Israel. Acknowledging these differences is very important if you want to improve social cohésion in a country.

Goldman had as rival a guy running as the 'ceasefire now candidate' who did OK in Brooklyn, winming some precints in Sunset Park and doing way better than Dolan.

Well, the rival (Evan Hutchison) has only got 23%, but there was a third rival (Bruno Grandsard) who got 10%. Grandsard seems somehow to the left of Goldman but more of areformist type than a DSA type. Grandsard run on an actual platform,  Hutchison run on 'PERMANENT CEASEFIRE NOW!, that's all'. Between the two, 33%, nearly double Dolan (17%).

That's the only reason why Hamas even got brought into the discussion. Because I brought up (correctly!) that George Latimer had not recanted his support for Andrew Cuomo, who is known for serially sexually assaulting women.

I'll make sure to tell my friend to hold his girl a little closer next time he's in Maine.

Ah yes personal attacks, the last line of defense of any loser. You can't really believe that you are the reason that Hamas gets brought up in a discussion on Bowman.

You literally just called me an anti-Semite. You do not get to criticize anyone here for making personal attacks. If you had responded with a modicum of respect, we wouldn't have has an issue. But you implied I was an anti-Semite, so now we have problems and you just caused the thread to derail.

Say what you want about people like freethinkingindy and Green Line - they at least can take what they dish out! It's pretty simply - talk sh*t, get sh*t back.

And your friend has nothing to worry about, we don't have many Hamas/ rape apologists here.

Cheer up sawx, it will be a couple months until the chance of Cori Bush getting primaried.

Trump and it’s not even remotely close.

Buchanan was just a coward and a moron, Johnson was just a stubborn bigot. Both of course were racist.

Trump is all those things and much, much worse. I don’t think Buchanan or Johnson were rapists and they definitely didn’t incite a violent overthrow of the US government in an attenpt to install a fascist dictatorship.

Anyone who says otherwise is the one actually influenced by recency bias, as they clearly are making the flawed and logically fallacious assumption that “I can’t POSSIBLY be living through the worst times or presidency ever, therefore anyone calling out Trump for truly being as bad as he clearly is must be hysterical.”

Look at them objectively, in a vacuum. Trump would have managed to be even more malicious and worse in the same situation as the other two. It’s as simple as that, and it makes him by far, hands down, by orders of magnitude the worst president ever. It’s not even a subject for debate as far as I’m concerned. And frankly I hate it when people try to claim otherwise in some remote reaching academic sense. It always feels like gaslighting me, as if I don’t know this evil inhuman waste of life and limb lowest scum of the Earth has hijacked my country or shouldn’t care. F—k that.

I suspect that that belief is what leads to them being excluded and policed. People think autistic people are too "pure" to handle alcohol, marijuana, being unsupervised, traveling alone, employment, dating, etc. I'm talking about people who give a vibe of being "pure" as much as I am people who say, "I am autistic."
I wonder if its common for autistic people to seem younger than we actually are to other people. I've had people be surprised at how old I was since I was 17 at least.
It doesn't help that my mom insists on me shaving, claiming that facial hair looks unhygenic.
TBH everything I've heard about your parents has made them look toxicly controlling.

I think it’s pretty weird that you saw a study on gender brain differences and immediately went to atlas to make it a transgender debate.

Its been a beautiful night for moderate anti-fascists.  Bowman needs to be the first of many.  Jews will be safe in this country again.
