Yes, it’s USC (not Utah) at UCLA on Saturday night; thanks for catching the typo. Must be these new fingers.

@Illiniwek: let me know if you want to change your pick in that game.

Wyoming finishes the season at UNLV and home vs Fresno, so they're the bubble team now.

Tonight's bubble games in approximate order of importance:

Dayton @ Richmond & St. Bonaventure @ VCU: The A-10 is full of bubbles, as all of these except Richmond are in the conversation, and all need to win to stay there.

Louisville @ Virginia Tech: The Hokies need to win to stay in consideration.

Michigan State @ Michigan: The Wolverines are on the right side of the line for now, but not by much.  A win over their in-state rival would make them feel a lot safer.

West Virginia @ Oklahoma: The Sooners are on the fringe of the bubble, and a loss would pretty much put them out of it.

Kansas @ TCU: TCU is likely in already, but a win over Kansas would boost their resume enormously.

I'll stick with UCLA, but thanks for letting me know!

You forgot the big one Florida @ Vandy.  This is the kind of game Florida loses.

Huge upset in Columbus as Ohio State, a 15-point favorite, falls to Nebraska (by far the worst team in the Big Ten) 78-70.

Does Ohio State now have to win the Big Ten tournament to make the NCAA tournament?

Nah, their overall body of work still has them easily in the field.  One bad loss (or two if you include Maryland) doesn't outweigh that.

For a team that can't hit a 3-pointer, TCU does alright.

I'm convinced that Syracuse needs to move their basketball programs to the Big East

Florida-Vandy is going down to the wire.

Vandy blew an 8pt lead down the stretch to give Florida the "upset" (Vandy was a 1.5 pt favorite)  Even when Vandy got the ball in Pippen's hands down the stretch, he didn't get it done.

That weird turnover where the Vandy player bounced it off the backboard and then his teammate's face seemed like the turning point.

Assuming the Michigan and Virginia Tech scores hold up, every one of the bubble teams listed earlier did what they needed to do (except St. Bonaventure, but that was a game between two bubble teams so one of them had to lose).

So they can go toe to toe with Georgetown?

The way Georgetown plays, it would be more like toe to face.

Syracuse is a better fit with the Big East, both due to its geographic position and historic rivalries with a majority of the members of that league. Syracuse would have more a chance in the Big East than they would in the ACC.

It's always painful to watch a team tighten up down the stretch, especially an underdog (even if they were technically the favorite)

Well, Syracuse does actually play football (unlike UConn) and all.

They could still be in the ACC for football, but in the Big East for basketball

Sorry, that's not how it works.  If they want to play basketball in the Big East, they'd have to be an indie in football and that would be financial suicide.   They ain't no Notre Dame.
