It pains me to say this, but GO NOLES. I hate Notre Dame more than any other program with the exception of Pedo State.
More than the service academies?

Air Force is pretty likable.

Unlike Army and Navy, their programs are entirely funded by taxpayers. They're the worst of the three. Also Colorado Springs is a gross Republican sh**thole. At least Annapolis and Bear Mountain are redeemable as places outside of the money pits.

They're all top 10 for sure.

Speaking of the Faux Irish, I see they pulled out a squeaker in OT. I think sudden death should be abolished. Each team should get at least one chance to score.

I think you're [correctly] arguing that the NFL should switch to college overtime?

Well, I think ties shouldn't happen.

Florida State made the go-ahead field goal in OT (admittedly a weak and half-hearted attempt by the kicker clearly after the challenge whistle initiated by their coach but it squeaked over) only for the successful challenge to bring them about 10 yards closer and for the kicker to miss wildly. Notre Dame took it from there with a chip shot. Noles blew their chance. But super glad to see McKenzie Milton back out there. The true lovable face from the UCF Championship Team.

I think the Big 12 should add the 3 service academies instead of duplicating a state they're already in, a directional school, or a vehement gaybashers who teach the Book of Mormon in archaeology class.

I support all the service academies because I'm a patriot. I was referring to CraneHusband's disdain for the military.

Also, both Houston and UCF (unlike most directional schools) are respectable research institutions with large alumni bases that disperse across their big states and regions. Pretty good fit for a P5, imo. And BYU is a magnificent brand. The service academies are a terrible institutional fit, and don't need to tie themselves into a dumpster fire of a conference.

That was a very good game. It is hard for me to write about now but I was expecting FSU to get beat by 17. I was expecting us to win 4 games this year; maybe we make a bowl.

I dislike the service academies more than the regular military itself, if for nothing else that the welfare queens at the academies are stealing more of our money per capita than anyone.
They were last relevant in about 1880. Time to nuke them into orbit, possibly using our new Space Force equipment we wasted so much money on.

The Space Force Academy should be in the SEC.

That was a terrible targeting call.  The ball carrier ducked right into it.

Fourth targeting call of the night, I'd expect nothing less from these two teams.

Why is Notre Dame at home against a MAC team even on there lol. A home Notre Dame game NBC doesn't even want to put on TV, lol.

I think we should have picked Kansas/Coastal Carolina instead (though Coastal Carolina is running away with that game right now).

You basically have to be right by default because no SEC team could ever possibly be bad enough to make "getting the sh**t beat out of them by an FCS team" the expected result.

This is a tough game to pick because, on the one hand, Colorado State also just got the sh**t beat out of them by an FCS team. On the other hand, South Dakota State is a better football program than Vandy.

I think that, as recently as 2018, we would have been a double digit favorite against someone like CSU, but we've dropped so far in the last three years.  Vandy was actually a halfway decent team from 2016-2018.  Now, that didn't remotely resemble the James Franklin days, but we did have some very solid wins those three years, beat UT three years in a row, went to two bowl games, and had some close calls of major upsets.

The 2018 season, especially, where we finished the regular season 6-6, was nearly a truly special season.  We had a chance with the ball deep in their territory in the final minute to beat a Notre Dame team that would go undefeated in the regular season and went to the CFP.  We had a 21-3 lead on a Florida team that would go on to win the Peach Bowl and finish ranked #7.  We were tied in the fourth quarter with the best Kentucky team in a generation that would go on to win ten games and finish ranked #11.
