Real good special teams play there, Nebraska!

(If you're not watching the game, that's sarcasm.)
Are you referring to the safety, the missed extra point, or the 26-yard punt?

The two missed extra points.

By the way, by even trying an extra point on that last one, Scott Frost might as well have been screaming "I don't understand statistics".

This is a tough game to pick because, on the one hand, Colorado State also just got the sh**t beat out of them by an FCS team. On the other hand, South Dakota State is a better football program than Vandy.

I think that, as recently as 2018, we would have been a double digit favorite against someone like CSU, but we've dropped so far in the last three years.  Vandy was actually a halfway decent team from 2016-2018.  Now, that didn't remotely resemble the James Franklin days, but we did have some very solid wins those three years, beat UT three years in a row, went to two bowl games, and had some close calls of major upsets.

The 2018 season, especially, where we finished the regular season 6-6, was nearly a truly special season.  We had a chance with the ball deep in their territory in the final minute to beat a Notre Dame team that would go undefeated in the regular season and went to the CFP.  We had a 21-3 lead on a Florida team that would go on to win the Peach Bowl and finish ranked #7.  We were tied in the fourth quarter with the best Kentucky team in a generation that would go on to win ten games and finish ranked #11.

Upset Alert!

Midway through the Second Quarter, Arkansas leads #15 Texas 13-0.

That would be a mild upset, I guess, but Arkansas is a lot better than they have been the last few years.  I couldn't quite bring myself to pick Arkansas, but that was very much expected to be a competitive game.

The Faux Irish almost lost to this team last week.

Today, they almost lost to Toledo.

Why are they a top 10 team again?

College football tradition dictates that Notre Dame, Michigam, and Texas must start out the year drastically overrated.

Tennessee used to be in that group too and it looks like pollsters finally learned their lesson after all those years, so maybe there is still hope.

Notre Dame does have that one year every five years or so where they go 12-0 against a questionable schedule and then get blown out in the BCS or CFP.

No in-person game for me today, but I got to listen to this one — something right about college football on the radio during a long drive (to Santa Cruz and back for me).

Rough one, but our crowd was at least way more into it than what I saw in 2019.  Clark Lea wasn't left with a whole lot, so he's going to need a couple years to get us competitive.

Did ExtremeR go to the Georgia-Vandy game?  So far it's starting about like you'd expect.

No, I knew what was coming and decided I didn't want to subject myself to that.  It somehow went even worse than my expectation.  I'll probably go to the UConn game next week.

Unlike two weeks ago when Vandy lost 62-0 to Georgia, but it was somehow far worse than the box score suggested, today we're losing 42-0 to Florida, but we've actually been better than the score indicates.  We just can't convert in the red zone (4 trips to the 21 yard line or closer with 0 points to show for it), but we actually somehow have more first downs than they do.

But UCONN is back!! Thrilling upset win in East Hartford today

The fact that UConn upset Yale is almost impossible to fathom.  I wonder when the last time an Ivy League school was favored against a program in the top level of CFB (FBS/1-A/Division 1 pre-split) was.

Tennessee should be fined $1 million and banned from having live attendance for one year. Shocked NYE hasn't called for the death penalty and/or SEC Expulsion yet.

The SEC fines for completely harmless (99.9% of the time) field stormings, so they better fine way more for something like this that actually disrupted the game, showed poor sportsmanship, and, most importantly, put people in danger.
