Aw! I wanted Meadows to go to prison.

I'm still royally pissed about him not going to prison for the voter fraud.

How many times have we said Trump’s f—ked and he still manages to escape unscathed? Man, I just don’t want to get my hopes up. But today felt like a big shift in the fates. At the risk of getting embarrassed again…I think this guy might be f—ked.

I'm not sure the immunity deal implies he's not getting jail time. It could but we don't know what deal they made.

J6 committee must have a dozen or so witnesses that contradict that claim. Meadows apparently also contradicted it under oath in this case.

Mary Wheeler has a summary of Donald's last-minute barrage of Hail Mary's:
Trump’s Motions to Dismiss Things That Aren’t the Charges Against Him

I’m going to lay out what he filed. I’ll review them at length in follow-ups. Here’s a handy table to understand them.

I don’t think Mark Meadows would lie about the Rigged and Stollen 2020 Presidential Election merely for getting IMMUNITY against Prosecution (PERSECUTION!) by Deranged Prosecutor, Jack Smith. BUT, when you really think about it, after being hounded like a dog for three years, told you’ll be going to jail for the rest of your life, your money and your family will be forever gone, and we’re not at all interested in exposing those that did the RIGGING — If you say BAD THINGS about that terrible “MONSTER,” DONALD J. TRUMP, we won’t put you in prison, you can keep your family and your wealth, and, perhaps, if you can make up some really horrible “STUFF” a out him, we may very well erect a statue of you in the middle of our decaying and now very violent Capital, Washington, D.C. Some people would make that deal, but they are weaklings and cowards, and so bad for the future our Failing Nation. I don’t think that Mark Meadows is one of them, but who really knows? MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

Quote
Mark Meadows NEVER told me that allegations of significant fraud (about the RIGGED Election!) were baseless. He certainly didn’t say that in his book!

To be perfectly honest with you I don't care about the 2024 Election anymore, at least on the Presidential Level, if Trump is the Nominee.

Judge hits pause on partial gag order in Trump federal election interference case
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan decided to give Trump’s lawyers time to argue for a longer pause while they appeal the gag order she issued on Monday.

Quote
The judge overseeing the federal election interference case against Donald Trump has temporarily lifted the partial gag order imposed on the former president earlier this week.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan on Friday paused the order she issued Monday, after Trump's attorneys asked her to put the previous ruling aside while they appeal the matter.

The judge gave special counsel Jack Smith’s office until Wednesday to file a response to Trump's request. Defense attorneys will then have three days to respond to the filing by prosecutors. The directives in Monday's gag order will not be in effect during that time.

The special counsel’s office declined comment Friday night.

Trump has taken advantage of the pause over the weekend.

Well, it emboldened him to go after Engoron and Engoron's clerk again... which got him fined, dressed down, and demonstrates that he tries to incite violence when he thinks he's free to do so.

Televise Trump’s federal trials? Judicial panel says its hands are tied
A courts committee says it lacks authority to modify a broadcasting ban in time for the historic criminal cases against the former president.

Quote
A federal judicial panel has turned down a bid to allow live television coverage of two historic criminal trials of former President Donald Trump scheduled for next year.

Without apparent dissent, a committee that handles potential changes to the federal courts’ criminal rules concluded Thursday that it had no ability to alter the existing ban on broadcasting federal criminal trials. Thirty-eight Democratic House members and some media outlets had requested that the rules be changed or an exception be created to allow Trump’s looming federal trials to be televised.

“We have an absolute rule,” said the panel’s secretary, or “reporter,” Duke Law Professor Sara Sun Beale. “We have no authority to authorize exceptions to an across-the-board, straight rule.”

The head of the Advisory Committee on Criminal Rules, U.S. District Judge James Dever, also said the glacial pace federal law prescribes for amending federal court rules means that, even if the panel approved a change, it wouldn’t take effect until 2026 or 2027.

Note: it could still be done by Congress directly.

US judge asks Trump if he wants his federal election trial televised
Quote

A U.S. judge on Friday asked former President Donald Trump whether he wants to appear on television when he stands trial in federal court on charges of attempting to overturn his 2020 election defeat.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in Washington asked Trump’s lawyers to give their opinion by Nov. 10 on media requests to broadcast the trial, which is scheduled to begin in March 2024.

With Pence out of the race, her gag order is no longer contradicting itself. Pence is no longer both a rival candidate for the 2024 Republican nomination (whom Donald was allowed to make threats against), and a witness against him (whom Donald was not allowed to make threats against). Now, Pence is only a witness to Donald Trump's crimes.

But since he suspended but did not legally end his campaign does it matter? Seems he could still argue Pence is running if it becomes an issue.

Presidential Candidates usually suspend their Campaigns to pay down their depth.

That being said there is no doubt in my mind that Former VP Mike Pence is potentially a Star Witness in the J6 Case. If Pence is ordered to testify by Chutkan and he confirms what Jack Smith wrote in the Indictment Trump is finished and will be convicted.

It's the normal practice but I think it means he's legally still running.
