Except that he doesn't want to start WWIII. It's not that simple when nuclear powers are involved. The situation is horrible one way or another. Races for Congress don't have to line up with the Prez we won 41 H seats in 2018 and we won 50/47% and 46/43M votes so it's possible a blue wave can happen and we can see TX and FL and OH going D and it didn't happen in 2020 we won 41H with less of the vote than we did for Prez in 2020 because Trump was on the ballot in 2020 not in 2018 that's why Crist and Tim Ryan and Cheri Beasley may win and we didn't win those in 2020

This was even the case for Trump, despite the idea that his supporters are cult-like or that he had a unified base. Perhaps Americans think more like, "has the president done anything to make me angry?". When the answer is no, they approve, but in a permissive and not enthusiastic way. When the answer is yes they are angry so it's strong disapproval.

As I predicted, Biden's incredibly strong handling of the situation in Ukraine has only caused his approval rating to decline further, as Americans see images of dead Ukrainians on their TV screens and blame Biden for not somehow magically preventing all this from happening.
