Kinda funny to think about but Ossoff’s first race in 2017 was the first election I tracked on this site 😱

Perdue clearly benefited from elected incumbency, but it most certainly wasn't enough.

It feels good that with such a divided Congress, Biden and Pelosi rather than some inexperienced newbies will be the ones in charge of corralling the votes. I don’t know much about Chuck Schumer, he hasn’t had a chance to shine yet but now does-he better not let us down.

I wouldn't mind some back stabbing to replace him. He's been an utter disappointment.

Schumer is better than Pelosi.

Schumer lacks the ruthlessness to be a great minority leader, but he's an excellent retail politician and an experienced Congressional hand. He won't be McConnell, but that's a good thing in its own way. He'll be a good Senate Majority Leader.

Ok, you have this opinion but why? Pelosi has a lot of legislative accomplishments, Schumer has been in the minority and seemingly dropped a few balls.

This is as much Stacy Abrams night as it is Ossoffs & Warnocks.

This forums' complete turnaround of her in the last 2 years (Particularly the last 6 months) has been even more fascinating to watch than the actual races.

From being raked over the coals by for not conceding over voter suppression concerns to being criticized as being "too ambitious" for wanting to be Biden's running mate.

From gleefully mocking her MSNBC appearance with Biden to now championing her as a forebearer of Georgia Democrats and a potential DNC Chair candidate

I firmly believe that the outcome of the presidential and Senatorial races in Georgia is John Lewis' final revenge. Trump reaped what he sowed by insulting Lewis while he lived.

Replace the word "Lewis" with "McCain" and this post also applies to Arizona.

I've said so myself elsewhere.

Tonight I'm praising the god I pray to. I feel safer as an LGBT American now than I did when I woke up this morning. That $2,000 check is going to put a massive dent in a health insurance deductible I can't afford. Thank you thank you thank you to every Georgian who voted for Ossoff and Warnock.

Oh brother, as an lgbt american, I feel the exact same and think this kind of tokenism of identity is ridiculous.

As another member of the LGBTQ community, I can confirm this outcome really does make me feel safer today than yesterday.

I like both Schumer and Pelosi. If I have to pick between the two I guess Pelosi wins out.

Steve K. on MSNBC was just saying that according to his sources in Fulton County, there are something potentially up to 7k Mail In Ballots outstanding.

So... the election day turnout is likely going to be in the vicinity of 1.3 to 1.4m which is way bigger than even the GOP's wildest dreams and also far bigger than what it was in November, and yet they (republicans) still lost, lol. Who predicted that?

Also, hats off to the NYT needle. Their model was absolutely perfect (probably helped greatly by the last election being so close). If one just paid attention to it and ignored cable news (CNN) or random tweets, they wouldn't have panicked at any moment all night through.

I couldn’t have told you the actual numbers at any point tonight. I just followed the needle.

Turns out I unintentionally took words out of Raphael Warnock. “God bless you, Georgia, and God bless these United States of America".

I just hope Senate MAJORITY Leader Chuck Schumer will be just as ruthless, shrewd, and downright despicable and unfair to Senate MINORITY Leader Cocaine Mitch and his caucus of fascists as he was to him and all the Democrats during his deplorable tenure at the helm. DON'T PLAY NICE WITH THESE F***ERS, Chuck!

(Pelosi is miles better than Chuck. "If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman Stacey Abrams.")

So wait...by making it urban wouldn’t that mean Manchin has a better chance of winning as a Dem in the Senate later on...
This is some 4-d chess.

I really liked Abrams prior to election night 2 years ago... at which time I was momentarily turned off by her quasi-concession speech.  But then I quickly warmed back up to her (chalked election night up to her being totally deflated due to coming so close after so much work strengthening the Dem party).

And certainly, my respect for her continued to grow as I became more aware of just how effective she has been in helping turn around the Dem Party in GA.
