Tusk also said on Friday that the new government would join the European Public Prosecutor's Office. That would leave Hungary and Sweden as the only EU countries without opt-outs to not be members of the EPPO. This an obvious first move in an effort to unblock €60 billion withheld by the EU due to PiS judicial "reforms" and other democratic backsliding.

Poland joined the EPPO on February 29th. (Only today I saw that it happened, which was while browsing wikipedia.)

Today there are runoff elections in all cities where no candidate got 50 % in the first round. Most interesting will be the results in Kraków and Wrocław, while Poznań will be a clear KO victory I guess.

Will we get exit polls today when the polls close??

A Polish soldier who was stabbed by an illegal immigrant at the Belarusian border on May 28th died today from his injuries. We got the type of response you'd expect from government officials. For example, from PM Donald Tusk: "The young soldier, Mateusz, gave his life defending the border of the Republic of Poland. The homeland and compatriots will not forget this sacrifice. I express my deepest sympathy to his loved ones.” Meanwhile a New Hope (part of Confederation) European Parliament candidate said soldiers and border guards "must have the right to shoot in self-defense and in defense of our border!" I didn't know crossing a border illegally was an executable offense in Poland.
