Regardless of my various disagreements with BRTD over the years, I struggle to find a single argument as to why he should be banned or even "Temp Banned" from any Atlas Board or Sub-Board.

Hell, he as an atrocious taste in music sometimes. Continues to claim that there is no connection between "Goth" and "Emo" from a  musical perspective.

Sometimes a bit of a "Stubborn old Goat" on certain items, but ultimately not a hater in any sense.

I remember when he had a GF who briefly joined the Forum, and I did some John Lennon and Yoko Ono jokes out of love and not hatred.

To know BRTD is to love him, regardless of various major political disagreements we might have had over the decades.

Believe I posted this image at some point back in the dazys...

Now he is probably gonna hate me for posting a Grateful Dead Song here, but it is what is and BRTD is getting a bad rap from the haters out there...

Guys, Moreno is guaranteed to win in November.
Trump will just hold another rally for him shortly before the election and all the MAGA voters will just extend their vote to Moreno as well. That's how Moreno won the primary.

And Trump will win Ohio by ten points.

No, he's not. He very well could win, but saying it's guaranteed against such a strong pol like Brown who's won statewide in Ohio 5 times is just silly. Brown is running great ads and has incredibly strong union support and crossover appeal.

Biden has stayed silent on Trump’s trial. The verdict will change that.
Biden will speak at some point after the verdict, whether it be a conviction, acquittal or hung jury.

Quote
Joe Biden plans to break his vow of silence and publicly address the criminal trials Donald Trump is facing when a verdict is reached, four people familiar with internal deliberations told POLITICO.

Biden intends to initially address the verdict in a White House setting — not a campaign one — to show his statement isn’t political, according to the people, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

If the jury convicts Trump, Biden’s team will then argue that the result shows Trump is ill-suited for office and that it demonstrates the extremes to which the former president would go to win again. The campaign’s social media team is considering leveraging the line of attack further, with discussions underway about referring to the ex-president online as “Convicted Felon Donald Trump.”

His team is also preparing for a barrage of Republican and Trump attacks if the former president’s acquitted or if there’s a hung jury.

That's the real benefit of the verdict, especially if it's a conviction, Biden and other Democrats can finally not have their arms tied behind their back about this.

People have asked why Biden hasn't been talking about this case but Biden really really doesn't want to give Trump a free "tainted jury pool" line for appeals.

Back in 1970 Richard Nixon as President casually commented that of course Charlie Manson was guilty during the middle of the trial process. Nixon said that Manson was “guilty, directly or indirectly, of eight murders without reason.” Manson's attorneys through the whole appeals process made the case that Manson's verdict should be thrown out as a public statement by the US President was incredibly prejudicial and not something the jury could avoid. Manson's strategy eventually failed but it was a pretty strong argument with a real chance of getting him off the hook.

If Biden were to come out and say "of course Trump's guilty" or publicly comment on the details of the case that'd be the biggest gift he could hand Trump.

All this ends after the verdict comes down.

I tried as well as I could to make these results make sense, but I admit that the ANC collapsing so badly is basically impossible to conceive of. I did at least find a coalition that I think could actually happen if these were the results.

With that out of the way, I actually have a question for you: what election should I do next?

Iceland has their presidential election coming up, but idk if the position is powerful enough for us to bother spending time on. Alternatively, there’s Mexico’s election. Idk which to do next, so I want to hear input from you all.

They'd rally behind their tacky tanned leader just like they rallied behind Dubya with Iraq.

Fundamentally what New Caledonia needs most of all right now is economic support and an ambitious public investment policy to move past the extraction economy and redistribute resources. Of course I don't expect a neoliberal like Macron to do any of that, but I also don't think an independent New Caledonia/Kanaky to have the resources to do that either (unless they become a de facto Chinese protectorate, which carries its own serious downsides...).

Transitioning to what though, a tourist centric economy? Because that's their only other productive sector of the economy, and I don't think the Kanak leaders want to go down the path of whoring away their culture to attract top tourist dollars.
Instructively, Bougainville's independence leaders have been pushing very hard for reopening and expanding their gold mine, only with the royalties to stay on the island instead of funnelling into Port Moresby. There simply isn't another way for them to generate investment.

excluding the green candidate from this list is literally george orwells 1984

i would have voted green in every previous election but would probably tactically vote for corbyn this time around. maybe not tho, i expect him to win relatively easily so idk,,, if he were a real patriot he would join or form a real political organization on the left instead of going it solo as an independent...
