Jorgensen at 95 cents on PredictIt, with Ken Armstrong leaping to 1st place for the VP pick.

There's some appetite among delegates to hold Round 3 tonight rather than in the morning, so Sarwark is now putting out a poll on the option to either do so or recess for the night.

The Secretary & her team have announced their opposition to holding Round 3 tonight on account of the logistical effort that'll be required to undertake yet another ballot, but Sarwark informs her that the vote is trending toward it happening tonight.

814 yeas, 87 nays, 11 abstentions. Round 3 will be tonight, & the Secretary announces her & her team are ready to go.

Looks like it'll be Jorgensen unless something crazy happens.

Any idea on the running mate?

Monds is best for an LP ticket focused on promoting gender and racial diversity in the party.

If the LP prefers to focus on ideology, she'll probably go with someone like Hornberger or Gray.

LP discussing how Jo and Spike can't be on the ticket together because they're both from SC and the Electoral College can't vote for them both due to the constitution.

Uh, I don't think they'll run into that issue.

That would be a horrible ticket.

General Takeaway -

Jorgensen likely to become the nominee tonight in Round 3 or 4, given a miracle by Hornberger or Vermin.

Many are concerned that Spike Cohen (also being from South Carolina), could not serve as Jo's running mate within the South Carolina electoral college.

If so, and the LP does vote Cohen as Jo's VP - it seems as if the LP of South Carolina is exploring the idea of nominating Ken Armstrong as Jo's VP; only within SC's Presidential Election; which would be a historic occurrence within US history and questionably legal.

They can't seriously believe they're going to win the state, so they might as well just go with Spike.

Honestly, nominating two people from the same state and running into this "discrepancy" might end up getting them some free media.

It’s amazing how the party is on track to nominate an academic who was on the ticket the year i was born after previously nominating Barr, Johnson, and Weld on their ticket.

In all fairness, she's a college professor at one of the most prestigious universities in the South, and has been active in the party for decades.

It's just that she's only a national nobody.

Yeah, she's not a bad pick for the party but in a year like this, you need someone like an Amash. Jo would have been a great Libertarian in 2004 or 2008, but not necessarily the best choice for 2012/2016/2020.

She's fine though. I only saw like ten minutes of the debates total, but she stood out.

But Amash refused, though. I don't even think Gray/Sharpe could've pulled off Amash's numbers. Of course, Jo won't; but, I think she's a far more libertarian candidate than Gary Johnson, who quite literally ran as a Republican candidate just a few years before.

She's not the big-name Libertarian or complete Anarchist that some Libertarians want, but she's an unquestionable Libertarian.

I'd add that to Wikipedia if the 2024 page still existed.

Delegate makes a (smart) motion to create a poll that the party finishes the presidential vote tonight, allowing for the MSM to cover (presumably Jorgensen's) the nomination tomorrow.

Motion being polled on now.

A delegate has moved to suspend the rules & eliminate the bottom 2 candidates after Round 3, & a vote will now be held. To pass, a 2/3rds majority is required.

Hornberger and Vermin (both moving from 3 cents to 5 cents) seeing small improvements on PredictIt, but it's looking like it's going to be Jo Jorgensen (currently 90 cents) as the Libertarian nominee.
