The LNC has been moved to July, except the Presidential nomination, which is starting today! Tokens will be gathered for balloting and the debate.

2016 had 5 candidates in the LNC debate, but this year there are at least 6 "major" candidates (Jorgensen, Hornberger, Gray, Supreme, Kokesh, Monds...), so it will be interesting to see who is in the debate. We should know around 5PM ET, when tokens are due.

The favorite for the nomination according to delegate polls is currently Jorgensen, who polled 21 points (!) ahead of Hornberger in a head-to-head. But debate performances have changed things radically in the past, like in 2004, and Jorgensen isn't the strongest debater.

Apparently they're capping debate participation to 5 and announcing the results soon, so we're about to find out whose campaign gets effectively killed due to failure to acquire debate tokens. Maybe Monds?

Tokens were based on # of delegates.

From the looks of things, and having a subpar knowledge of how the LP ballots system works...it looks like it will be Hornberger or Jorgensen, with Gray and Monds delegates (and who they decide to go to) having the final say.

My money is on Jorgensen, and the LP nominating its first-ever female ticket.

It's tough for any candidate to have a breakthrough performance in an online debate like this. I guess Hornberger is winning, but not by enough to get the large 1st ballot lead he will need to take the nomination?

What % of the NPV will the Hornberger get if he's the nominee? I can't imagine he'll get anywhere close to Johnson's numbers.

Nevermind, Vermin lit a joint. This is an LP debate, so he wins.

He'd be a failure if he can't get the 4th best result ever for the LP (over 0.50%) and a success if he gets the 2nd best ever (over 1.06%).

Supposedly there was also a token threshold that they needed but missed. So it's just 3 guys for the VP debate.

My money is still on Doctor of Science Jo "I'm a scientist" Jorgensen, who is a scientist and needs evidence like in science.

Stossel was an excellent moderator & pushed back when candidates weren't giving clear answers. Most of these candidates haven't faced any challenges to their positions & tonight was a good way to expose those who are only interested in pure dogma & have no plans.

There honestly wasn't really a clear winner. It was a bad showing from everybody. I've seen pretty much all of them give better performances than this. Everybody had a poor moment or two. I think Hornberger's continued ridiculous mudslinging & his unwillingness to answer direct questions made him the clear loser though. Seriously, why does he feel the need to constantly attack other candidates? It's such a sh*tty strategy for somebody trying to win a presidential nomination. He has probably lost any chance of getting the nomination at this point.

I have to agree, Hornberger going on the offense was not necessary.  And Jim Gray really didn't need to keep mentioning his website.

I think 2016 was the best third-party performance we'll see for a while

A quick summary of pitches from the top candidates:

Jorgensen: I'm a scientist

Supreme: I'm a meme

Gray: I have the best running mate

Hornberger: Lee Harvey Oswald was framed

To be fair to Vermin, he does have somewhat of a point in that his being a meme could gain him youth support.  I don't think he can get enough to win, but it is an interesting strategy.

Since McAffee and Mr. Taxation is Theft have dropped out apparently I guess it is time to reluctantly back Vermin Supreme

Tbh the fact that the Libertarian party has accepted him as a serious candidate still blows my mind.

Is there any sort of 2020 debate highlights out there?
