The very first time I ever saw Saudi Arabians eat a large bowl of rice with nothing but their fingers withought utensils...

Was in Huntsville.

I am literally traumatized for life.

And no, it's not just "muhRocketCenter" down there.

Arabs are so goddamn disgusting.

Atlanta feels like the right answer, and probably is, but it's not as representative as it seems. It would be perfect if the South dropped TX/OK/FL, but those have cities that are pretty different from Atlanta and have a lot of people.

Annoyingly there isn't much of a gradient between TX/OK and AR/LA.

South African elections are like if you're given a choice to eat of a bunch of toxic foods that'll make you varying degrees of sick or a bowl of bland unsweetened oatmeal. Purely by default I'll take the oatmeal: Democratic Alliance.

Although GOOD sounds alright I suppose. COPE sound OK ideologically but the party has been an absolute trainwreck since founding.

It would be unfair to apply this rule to presidency without having a similar one for Congress or the Supreme Court.
An argument could be made that one individual member of Congress at that age is not a huge deal even if infirm, Feinstein in her last days was concerning but the Senate continued on and once she croaked there was little succession issue. But I agree with the general sentiment.

I considered getting nicotine toothpicks once as an alternative to taking up smoking or vaping, then realized that was stupid and looked into ginseng or vitamin infused toothpicks instead, then realized those are way too expensive so I ended up with mint-flavoured toothpicks. Not sure why I didn't just buy a pack of gum.

I believe I have NEVER skipped a state run election I was eligible to vote in, and that includes a primary in my beyond Titanium Safe D State Senate seat for a special election in which the DFL nominee was running unopposed.

I say "state run" because I did not participate in the presidential caucus that year because I really wasn't big on any candidate and just going against Bush, plus Kerry had locked up the nomination anyway. So getting to the caucus would've been kind of an unnecessary hindrence for a college student and I didn't bother. But that was a caucus alongside a "firehouse primary" completely ran by the party, no state involvement.

The other election related event I skipped I was eligible to participate in was the 2022 MN-05 convention which I automatically qualified for as a state delegate but I didn't want to vote for either Omar or Don Samuels or spend a weekend morning in a hot and sweaty gymnasium to vote "uncommitted".

The evidence is scant that voters actually favor placing formal constitutional upwards limits on how old the President can be.

North Alabama is the heart of the industrialization up and down the I20 corridor.

We have an insanely militarized border already ffs. But I guess having a low-paid workforce over whose heads you can hang the threat of ICE if they dare try to organize is more
important.
