And yet I’ll bet $10,000 that we don’t see the kind of abandonment that we saw about Roy Moore.

I mean yes, being a hypocrite about abortion is nowhere near as bad as pedophilia, so this is probably a fairly safe bet.

I mean for Republicans the former is a crime while the latter is an accepted practice, so we'll see.

They really don’t have human morals or ethics so….who the hell knows.

The Walker Campaign has fired political director Taylor Crowe.

Quote
Herschel Walker’s Senate campaign cut ties with its political director on Wednesday, CNN has learned, the move coming just days after The Daily Beast reported that the Georgia Republican paid for a woman’s abortion more than a decade ago.

The departure of Taylor Crowe, who previously held the same role on ex-GOP Sen. David Perdue’s failed bid for Georgia governor this year, comes just weeks before Election Day in the crucial Senate contest against Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock. With an evenly split Senate, Republicans are hoping to flip the Georgia seat as they look to take control of the chamber.

Two people familiar with the matter said Crowe was fired after suspected leaking to members of the media. It is unclear if there were any other factors at play.

Walker campaign manager Scott Paradise declined to comment when reached by CNN on Friday. Crowe himself did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Does his wife also have brain damage? How could she possibly think that contacting this woman was a good idea?

Seriously, it's heartbreaking to think about.

This guy is clearly a broken person, and he's done a lot of harm to the people around him. These allegations from his ex-wife and now his son are of a repeatedly violent or unstable person. We're in extremely polarized times and many a Georgia conservative will hold their noses for Republican control, but they might rue even a win here. A Senator can't run from pulling a Preston Brooks or McLaurin-Tillman on a colleague they hate.

That's true. It's miracle Marjorie Taylor Greene hasn't murdered a colleague yet.

She's still in her freshman term, give it time.

To go off my previous point, now is when we see which Georgia Republicans think is worse: an unrepentant mass murderer of his children or a mainstream Democrat.

Walker needs to drop out immediately.
Continuing to have to read about this campaign is just making me too sad.

Yeah, that’s my takeaway. Lol. Walker will not win this race. This is snowballing out of control. Guess we move on to NV and PA.

Yeh. I take back all the things I said about him earlier in the campaign. Clearly there was A LOT going on beneath the surface and he's clearly never had a good father figure in his life. Then he finds out along with the rest of the country that he has three half-siblings. Yeesh

His cognitive dissonance makes a lot more sense now. I went from finding him extremely annoying to feeling pretty awful for him almost overnight. This is really, really sad.

This may be the genuinely saddest story that's come out of a political campaign in God knows how long.

I will say though, that Republicans, in justifying their continued support for Walker, have brought up the examples of not only Menendez, but also Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton. Their reasoning is this: Why should they abandon Walker (and Trump) over concerns about their moral character when the Democrats did not abandon Kennedy or Clinton? Why should they turn over when Democrats have stood firmly behind their own candidates who have been accused of moral impropriety? What comparison can be drawn between how Democrats have responded to scandals like this, involving their own candidates, and how Republicans have responded?

There is an easy answer to that -because they are (supposedly) morally superior to us, why shouldn't Democrats demand that Republicans live up their own claims and standards? Beginning with the alignment of the Christian Right to the GOP, Republicans have been claiming that God is on their side, even that He is a Republican, placing themselves on a moral pedestal from which they have been claiming moral superiority over the Democratic Party for electoral gain.  Is it therefore so unreasonable to judge them accordingly, to expect that Republicans should be held to a higher moral standard than Democrats?

Quote
For them, politics is a game of winners and losers, and it is more important to win than it is to lose. Hence, why white evangelicals held their noses for Trump and will hold their noses for Walker, because they see policy priorities - such as proscribing abortion - as more important than the morality of their candidates. But how justified can this stance be? Does this mean Republicans are hypocritical? Or that they are realistic?

It means that evangelicals have become morally bankrupt in their desire to retain power and influence over the direction of the United States, driven perhaps by desperation in the knowledge that the country is moving past them.  So they back morally compromised candidates like Donald Trump that they may not have stooped to in earlier decades when they were more confident they stood for the 'silent majority'.

That's really sad.   The GA Dems can't put it out in their messaging due to the impact on the kid, but it'll probably travel enough on it's own.

Walker is a terrible person, there's no excuse.
