Rashida Tlaib is a Trump sleeper agent confirmed!?

But to be serious uh democrats are literally tearing themselves apart, not a good strategy to win a election or really to make people even consider voting for you.

Lmao. Dems should be thankful they have a top tier candidate in Kim and not Tammy Murphy, although I think Menendez would get more against Kim because of Murphy's institutional strength being useful in Hispanic/Black cities.
I think Murphy would've bled more-she's an insanely bad campaigner and I imagine a decent chunk of Kim supporters would have left their Senate ballot blank if she ran, especially if things change in the next couple of months and it looks like Tester and/or Brown will lose.

Murphy would definitely do worse, I think Menendez would just do worse as well. Kim supporters would not vote for Gold Bar Bob.

Anonymous hog-cranking is literally more of a human right than food or housing. California Democrats have taken our guns, driven up the cost of rent, ignored homelessness, dragged their feet on public transportation, and smothered innumerable small businesses with their draconian licensing and COVID policies-- but apparently they won't be satisfied until we can't even escape the dystopian wasteland they've created for but a few brief minutes by watching lesbian incest porn. The idea that anyone should have to verify their identity with some unknown online entity to exercise their fundamental right to jerk their chain is authoritarian prudish nanny-state insanity and those endorsing it are depraved.

I don't even see how an originalist argument could uphold a punishment like this under the Eighth Amendment. This isn't really an area of the law I'm too familiar with, but from what I've read, chemical castration is an option for the convicted. Even then, it appears to be generally reversible. For obvious reasons, surgical castration is not reversible.

I have to say a law like this is really disturbing.

Chemical castration as far as I know isn't even administered by the government in those cases - sex offenders voluntarily undergo it through non-government medical providers of their choosing. Government actors doing that would still give me pause, considering it's been used in the past to punish homosexuals (Alan Turing being a famous example.) Louisiana's legislature is doubtless full of people who think drag queens are "groomers" and I have absolutely zero confidence that this idea wouldn't be abused even if I agreed with it in principle (I do not.)

I have noticed, and it's been reiterated a bit on the Sunday's, that Labour are tentatively 'vibing' a bit more centre-left than pre-campaign. No substance yet, but I think it demonstrates confidence going into the campaign.

Not a massive surprise really, it was always likely that the pre-election period would be largely about closing off Tory attack lines as much as possible in preparation for the main event.

And as some of us have long said, wait for the manifesto.....
