I mean, it's just pissing in the wind trying to attract 'yer da' types on Facebook. Nothing really lost.

I might be misconstruing this, because I’ve been doing some work with a small business that lives and dies off Meta advertising to 35-65s. But it’s feels like a massive oversight, surely?

Sure, Facebook trends older - but so do voters! Individual Tory candidates are spending thousands on Meta ads. The Lib Dems are running four different ads targeting Scottish voters alone.

As someone who is recieving those targeted ads (and on YouTube) there's a point at which they become spam. I had SLabs constituency based targeted YouTube ad about four or five times in one hour session (giving 'Granny, I got the job' vibes). And the comments on the Facebook ones, where allowed, are a dumpster. While it's clearly a cashflow decision not to run them so far, it is something I'm glad they are not funding.

For Africa it'll take some time

Lots even criminalize it at this point still

I suspect, legalization will spread from south & islands. I suspect after Namibia maybe the former Portuguese colonies follow next: Angola, Mozambique & Cabo Verde. As well as Botswana.

Further north i suspect Tunisia would be the first muslim speaking nation to do it in the Maghreb but not anytime soon.

West Africa won't be for soon (democratic backsliding there), neither would central Africa or muslim speaking Africa be.

Remember that this is the brief season of silly buggers and of deals and all sorts of things are said and all sorts of things are done and not all that is said is done.

I'm not campaigning for a party that screeches I'm a racist.

As far as Asia goes, there is one that seems to be mentioned often on these lists that isn't here in this topic: Nepal.

Nepal already legalized it

I’m for Biden in that I see another Trump term as the single greatest threat to our democracy (not to mention, being calamitous globally) but I am absolutely appalled by Biden’s policies in the Middle East in general and in regard to Israel-Palestine in particular.

His unflinching support for Israel at this moment is indefensible morally, self-defeating and reckless electorally for himself and potentially for other Democrats, and goes against our country’s purported values (ha) and interests in maintaining any international reputation or credibility on any issues. Not to mention, the national security threat to Americans engendered by Biden doubling down on the US government’s cartoonish bias in favor of Israel regardless of what that government and the settler extremists do.

Biden should have let Trump and his smug dumbass son-in-law own the Middle East clusterf—k. What we have now is the 46th President endangering so much by his deeply ideological and emotional support for Israel and its citizens’ well-being over that of Palestinians—no wonder he’s lost so many young people in this campaign!

Again, I support Biden in that Trump must be stopped, but I won’t begrudge anyone else for whom this issue is a red line (as opposed to Biden’s fake red line re: Rafah). I understand completely.

This is how I feel 100%. Biden has my vote, even though I am angered by his constant pandering to Israel's war crimes and genocide against Palestinians. There are far too many other issues at stake, such as abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, freedom of speech, and education that would be best served by re-electing Joe Biden.

What a letdown from Fiorentina. They enter the exclusive club of teams that lost two consecutive finals of the same European competition, most recently represented by Benfica ten years ago (and as we all know Benfica are under a curse).

Biden is weak, nobody really likes him, he needs to be replaced by a younger and more charismatic candidate like Obama or Bill Clinton, otherwise, Trump will win and democracy will end.

Trump nor his supporters are smart enough to end Democracy, thankfully.

So Trump isn’t smart enough to end democracy, yet he’ll end democracy anyways?

The stances of the Flemish political parties on Israel-Palestine according to Het Nieuwsblad (newspaper)

Vooruit: (social democrat)

Vooruit advocates immediate recognition of the Palestinian state, the unconditional release of the hostages and maximum access for humanitarian aid in Gaza. They also want to impose economic sanctions on Israel.

CD&V (christian democrat)

In favor of recognition of Palestine, an essential step for them to achieve a two-state solution. CD&V also advocates economic sanctions against Israel, such as a boycott of products from the occupied territories, and wants to evaluate the association agreement between the EU and Israel.

Open VLD (liberal)

Within Open VLD there is division about the recognition of Palestine and about the embargo for products from occupied territories.

N-VA (liberal conservative, flemish nationalist)

N-VA advocates a two-state solution, but does not currently support the recognition of Palestine or economic sanctions against Israel. The party does reject the Israeli occupation policy. The party mainly wants to focus on diplomatic pressure to end the conflict.

Vlaams Belang (flemish nationalist, right-wing populist)

The party supports a two-state solution. But Flanders cannot do more than condemn war crimes on both sides, it sounds. Vlaams Belang wants to suspend developmental aid to Palestinian areas. According to the party, this will only end up with Hamas.

Groen: (green politics)

Groen wants to recognize Palestine as soon as possible. The party also wants economic sanctions against Israel and calls for a total embargo. If it were up to the Greens, Israel would no longer have a place at international events and the Belgian government could no longer coöperate with Israeli authorities.

PVDA (marxist)

The party that goes the furthest in its position is PVDA. The party talks about a genocide and wants to oblige Israel to declare a ceasefire. All ties between our country and Israel must be immediately broken.
