If Virginia goes to the wire or takes a long time to be called.  That's how I knew the GOP was going to have a good night in 2014.
I'd argue Virginia is going to be a poor indicator; it is a politically unique state and is the ripe with Biden's strongest voter blocs. Mixed demographic suburbs and rust belt rural areas will tell all.

I'm not going to watch this because I have few enough brain cells as it is, but Terrence Howard's descent into Time Cube-esque insanity is at least still funnier than it is sad. Like Meclazine said, I have to assume this is just a really colourful misunderstanding of how elements form ionic and covalent bonds, but it's been so long since I've done orgo that I can't name one off the top of my head that does both. Hydrogen does per a quick google, but I swear it applies to metals in some circumstances too. It's weirdly fun to try and make sense of this.

And Trudeau will pay for it. Not 99%, 100%.

Kidding aside, imagine throwing 25 years of your life away for another country's politics.
According to what I've read, he's been living in the US for over 20 years. So, he's basically an American - just another right-wing nut job.

Also, many Canadians pay more attention to American politics than their own lol.

He has other baggage as well, thinking this would work was always highly optimistic.

I thought Trump had a decent chance to get a hung jury after Cohen’s testimony but Costello was so damaging to Trump that I actually think he gets convicted. The jurors are going to hold Costello’s behavior on the stand against Trump. Huge own goal by the defense calling Costello and it was likely Trump overruling his lawyers who initially planned to simply rest without calling witnesses

Honestly, a lot of this has been own goals by Team Trump tbh. Not only the Costello incident, but most of the issues have also arisen from Blanche's behavior as well.

Now I think the jury will convict on the misdemeanors of falsifying business records. That is a slam dunk. The judge will instruct the jurors to consider both a misdemeanor and felony conviction I believe. Politically a misdemeanor conviction doesn’t hurt Trump much but a felony could be a big political hit. Convicting on the felony (to cover up the election crime) is tougher but if I had to guess the jury will convict simply based on the defense’s behavior at trial. Reporting out of the courtroom indicated that the jurors largely did not pay attention when the defense was trying to make its case. That said I still think there is about a 1 in 3 chance the jury could hang

Back in 2021, many saw the failure of Scottish Labour to advance in the Holyrood elections as proof of their permanent irrelevance. Only a relative few noted that maybe the real significance of that result was its marking the final bottoming out after a decade of almost relentless decline.

It meant they were still around to take advantage of any SNP misfortunes, and so it has proved.

At the end of the day, as a wise saying goes - "Rather be Russian than a Democrat"
Excellent, you should start packing your bags and head to Russia.

Noem, Scott, Lake, and Stefanik are probably my top four guesses with Noem currently a head above the rest thanks to her alpha domination of that nasty little dog and her high-profile meeting with Kim Jong-Un.

That’s all true but it’s not like this is the first time the Conservatives have been riding high in BC federally. The Tories did very well in BC during the time of the 2005, 2009 and 2013 BC elections and the BC Liberals were led at the time by people who were very rightwing but who had strong federal Liberal pedigrees like Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark. Ironically, Kevin Falcon is the first federal Conservative to become leader of the B.C. Liberals and its under his leadership that that party is collapsing at the expense of the BC Conservatives

This post strikes me as a bit bizarre. Gordon Campbell was floated to run for Parliament as a CPC candidate in 2015, and Christy Clark both endorsed in the 2022 Tory leadership election and was discussed as a candidate for CPC leadership in 2015. Falcon’s ties to the Tories are well known, but I would say Wilkinson is the only leader who was really a federal Liberal.
