This is deranged. Putin presides over a weak country with a declining native population. Losing several European (let alone American) major cities with millions of people dead to avoid "appeasing him" would be a far greater cost than the gain, particularly from a national perspective.

If we appease in Ukraine, we will have shown that Ukraine made a horrible mistake by giving up their nukes and signing the Budapest Memorandum, and other countries will be sure not to repeat Ukraine's mistake.

If we let Vietnam fall to the Communists, we will have shown the Communists we are weak and the rest of Asia will fall.

You can make the same argument polls don’t matter because they aren’t actually real like election results and donation numbers.

Polls have way greater predictive value than past results and especially fundraising figures, especially in areas with a large number of high-quality polls (virtually all the battleground states down the stretch + the national polls).

As for the re-alignment narrative, I’m not sure why you don’t buy into it. I’ve made posts detailing why I think it’s real, but I guess only time will tell.

That was a great line by Rep. Crockett! More people need to clap back at MTG.

Anyway, those of who are groaning about "decorum," "this is embarrassing," and whatnot need to stop.

The UK pretty much has weekly roast sessions in their parliament that are worse than this. Also, in certain other countries, some of their politicians regularly get into scuffles and fights in their houses of parliament. So some word-jabbing is nothing.

Last I checked however, we are not the UK. The UK also has a King; shall we be like them in that regard too?

MTG was wrong for stirring the pot, Crockett was wrong for equally immature response. Both should be punished. What is the point of having standards, rules, or any guidelines if they are not going to be followed? Saying both are wrong doesn't make you a bad person or somehow make you a supporter of MTG. It's okay to sometimes drop partisan blinders and say someone you like is wrong.

A show loosely based off the life Chris Rock growing up in Brooklyn.

As wikipedia says:

Quote
The show is a family sitcom, patterned on Chris Rock's recollection of his teenage years growing up in the 1980s with a wholesome, tight-knit, African-American family, while living in drug-and-gang infested Bedford–Stuyvesant, a neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, and also attending a cross-town, all-white public junior high school.

Its an excellent show.

I know there's likely a low probability of it, but then again in 2014, I think most here would've agreed a Trump presidency in and of itself was a low probability.

As a running  mate, she would fulfill two things of value to Trump: She's loyal, and she's an attractive woman.

He could serve a third term, but not be elected a third time.

There is a theory he (or Obama, Clinton, GW Bush) could be elected VP and have a sock puppet at the top of the ticket who immediately resigns.

For what it's worth, Clinton at least has said he thinks this scenario is Unconstitutional.

It would be. It's a clear violation of the wording of the 22nd. In such a scenario, the new President would either have to immediately resign themselves, or the Speaker of the House would simply become President and the current VP (lets say Clinton in this case) would remain VP.
