So the beheading babies story turned out to be true, despite some very deranged people online pretending it was not.

The Palestinians were getting' slapped harder than Chris Rock today.

Explosions started early at sunrise

7:09:30
8:35:30
8:41:30
8:51:00
9:07:00

and....and....and....right throughout the daylight hours.

Just had a massive crack at sunset as you hear the calls to prayer.

18:17:00
18:28:50
18:31:00
- Hamas fires missiles which are immediately shot out of the sky (?).
18:32:00 - Intense bombing for 3 minutes.
18:41:10
18:44:00

Gaza Live Feeds

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcPPJqKsTR8

(HD - Right Click - Open Image in New Tab - NBC News)

The things you don't realise about a siege until you watch it live:

1. You cannot sleep with missiles every 10-30 minutes;
2. You never know in the next few seconds where the next missile will hit;
3. The screaming through the air followed by the thunderous bass of missile strikes is very disheartening;
4. It has a Chinese water torture component to it;
5. Some missile hits result in extra explosions which can be bigger than the initial missile;
6. Hamas are launching tons of rockets in retaliation. (102 sets today)

A lot of people left Gaza City in the first two days when the missiles started and evacuated south.

Egypt are steadfast in their refusal to let them out of the Southern Border crossing at Rafah.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/12/egypt-says-israel-seeks-to-empty-gaza-rejects-corridors-for-civilians

"Egypt has long restricted the flow of Gaza Palestinians onto its territory, even during the fiercest conflicts."

The Egyptians are happy to provide supplies and medical assistance, but they don't want any refugees.

There will be a ton of refugees coming out of this siege moving to the US and Europe.

Ah, but you see, 40 babies were killed, and some of those were beheaded, but the tweets saying "40 babies were beheaded" ended up proven totally wrong! Fake news! Atrocity propaganda!

IDF now says 247 soldiers killed since saturday. 25 more names on the list, presumably they are all killed in the last couple of days. Shows the level of fighting. For example, in the entire second Intifada from 2000 to 2005, Israel lost no more than 300 soldiers and policemen. In 2006 war, Israel lost only 5 soldiers.

Yesterday I saw a picture of one of the babies burnt alive in its crib. One of the most horrifying and depraved things I have ever seen.

(Note: despite the tweet, there is no single "opposition party". Lapid is considered leader of the opposition, and his Yesh Atid party is one of numerous parties in the opposition)

On Friday, Jewish schools remain closed due to security threats... in the Netherlands, that is. Sick that this is needed.

Yes, we are well aware that Hamas is perfectly happy to see many Muslims die if it allows them to kill a few Jews.

BTW: ever heard of generators?

Of course our resident jihad apologist is whatabouting the Hamas atrocities, committed by an organization whose express stated purpose is to kill every Jew.

BTW: ever heard of generators?

So...?

This is akin to when some Grayzone clowns were basically arguing "The Tiananmen Square massacre is a big hoax. The Chinese military never massacred protesters in Tiananmen Square." They massacred protesters in a different location less than a mile away from Tiananmen Square so it was all a big lie, haha checkmate neoliberals."

Not jumping the gun when we've already seen a good deal of debunked atrocity propaganda out of this conflict (on both sides--there was false information on a Palestinian church being destroyed) is different from denial.

The deliberate killing of children and infants is horrible in any context, of course.

This is obviously so he can remain completely unconnected to Netanyahu and be in a great position to replace him if we assume there's no way he can survive this, so probably a good move.

Lapid has made a politically astute and morally correct choice I think. Gantz clearly didn’t learn from the last time he entered a unity coalition.

I'm gonna be real, as someone who wholeheartedly supports Palestinian liberation, I find the constant arguments over the baby beheadings totally counterproductive and really emblematic of the failures of the pro-Palestinian left here. This is just me personally, but I suspect I am not in the minority when I say that I am mostly against baby killing in itself – the issue of whether the babies were beheaded is of comparatively minor importance. Therefore, when I see person 1 go "Hamas beheaded babies" and person 2 go "that's not true, they definitely killed babies, but there's no confirmation of beheadings" I instantly become less sympathetic to person 2. Anyone killing babies is bad and doesn't need to be defended.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you are compelled to say this explicitly, it might be a good time to reevaluate some things.

"Why aren't you condemning Hamas's war crimes?"

”There’s no evidence war crimes were committed. ‘They’ have been known to lie about crimes committed against them before.”

One day later

”See, the sources are walking it back. ‘They’ clearly made it all up!”

One day later

”Even the President of the United States is lying about seeing photos of the victims. It’s a massive conspiracy, obviously.”

Photos of the victims are made public

”I condemn [generic description of war crimes]…
How dare you question my condemnation of [generic description of war crimes]?"

Yes, that's called healthy skepticism that can be moved one way or another in light of hard evidence (and yes, the claims were walked back by both the IDF and the White House at different times). It's now clear that a Hamas attack on Kfar Aza deliberately murdered children and infants, despite the details previously being fuzzy.

Every single one of you would have bought WMDs in Iraq hook, line, and sinker. Some of you would have been among the Good Liberals who called for glassing the entire Middle East, I'm sure.
