Why is Notre Dame at home against a MAC team even on there lol. A home Notre Dame game NBC doesn't even want to put on TV, lol.
Toledo will probably give Notre Dame a better game than Kansas did against Coastal Carolina, Notre Dame is a heavily overrated team.

I remember Toledo being THE dominant minor conference power in the late 60s/early 70s.  They ran off three consecutive undefeated seasons from 1969-71 (that 35-game winning streak is second only to Oklahoma's 47) and consistently made the AP Top 20 (it hadn't expanded to 25 yet).

They had a great QB named Chuck Ealey whose nickname was "I Never Lose" because he didn't; he won every game he played in high school and college.  He was passed over by the NFL because black QBs were unlikely to be drafted at that time unless they were willing to play a different position, which Ealey made clear he would not do.  He went to the CFL and had a brief successful career that was cut short by injuries.

Also, Oklahoma State trails Tulsa (which lost to UC Davis last week) 14-7 in the third.

Virginia just flattened Illinois, 42-14.

Now, what the Illinois fans who post here (JGibson, Illiniwek, RINO Tom, etc.) saying about the Illini being good this year again?

I think the key question here is: just how bad is Nebraska???

As I said, they are terrible. (possibly the worst in the Big Ten) Probably still favorites to beat Buffalo today, but I've taken Buffalo +13.5 anyway, as that's practically a gift vs this Nebraska team.

Buffalo beating Nebraska straight up wouldn't shock me, actually.

South Carolina needed a last-second FG to beat East Carolina, 20-17.

And why is there both "East" and "Western" Carolina?  It should be either East & West, or Eastern & Western. Wink

Just love to see that this is not going to be an Ohio State year. AND it serves as a reminder that the PAC 12 actually exists.

AND DOWN GO THE BUCKEYES.

They have to figure out something defensively, Verdell was killing them on the outside sweep all game long. Oregon's OL kept a clean sheet for Brown too partially because OSU was afraid to bring LBs on the blitz.

I've got to admit that I'm happy to see both Clemson and Ohio State go down in the first couple weeks. Smiley

Is this the year Oregon makes the playoffs?

All signs point to yes, especially since their toughest remaining match is probably either on the road at UCLA or on the road at Washington until the PAC-12 Championship Game at what I presume at this point will be USC.

Win all of those games, and Oregon's a lock for the playoff.

1-loss ACC champ Clemson probably still gets in but yeah the B1G is wide open. between this and PSU starting strong, gives me hope going into the Horseshoe on Halloween weekend.

Far too early given how #Pac12afterdark can strike however an undefeated Oregon's certainly in. Even a 1-loss team should be #3 behind Bama/OU, should get the nod over a 12-1 UGA based on conference title and they'd be ahead of 12-1 OSU as a B1G champ (though not 13-0 PSU  Mock )

In another barnburner, Northern Illinois has scored the game's last 27 points to take the lead over Wyoming, 43-42 with under 5 minutes left.

Notre Dame should've lost, but regardless like I said they are highly overrated

The only good thing about this is it will make Cincy look better when they beat ND

Was a throwback to the days when the Pac-12 was a top 2 conference(before Oregon fell post Mariota and Stanford fell as well)

Especially since the money seems to be going towards paying NCAA officiants to help avert Notre Dame upsets.
