Dissolve the university of Georgia football program. It should not exist after today and take up space from a team that could actually win something.

Georgia hasn't actually played anyone good all season and it shows.

They're one of 7 teams in the SEC East taking up space.

Looking forward to the ACC game, where regardless of who wins I can at least be confident that the majority of participants can read beyond a sixth grade level.

U.S. News & World Report top U.S. public university rankings for 2022:

Georgia: 16 (48th among all U.S. universities)

Pitt: 20 (59)

Wake Forest isn't a public school; they're 28th overall.

You might have a point with Alabama. Wink

Arkansas, and Auburn were both good teams at the time Georgia played them, and I'd hardly call Kentucky a bad team.

Also, Clemson turned out to a pretty good team after all, even though they underperformed and failed to make the ACC Title game.

Well, the SEC as a whole isn't exactly known for upholding their academic reputations to bring in athletes. But then again, neither is the ACC... And Pitt definitely has more ranked departments than Georgia, although both are fine institutions.

That's fine, my comment was mostly directed at Alabama. But at least they aren't Auburn with their demented anti-vaxxer coach.

Cincinnati won, effectively guaranteeing their spot as the first G5 team in the playoff.

Side note: the GA-AL matchup from last year ended with the same score of Alabama 41-Georgia 24

3 tickets punched so far: Cincinnati, Alabama, and Georgia

Michigan can have the 4th if they lose tonight. If Michigan loses, 538 thinks Baylor gets the 4th spot, but I assume they'll just give it to Notre Dame (to get blown out in the semifinal again). I guess Iowa could get in the mix too.

My guess is they either give the fourth slot to either Notre Dame or Ohio State, if Iowa wins, with Baylor and and the Pittsburgh/Wake Forest winner also being in the discussion.

Lol, no. The ceiling for either team is 10th.

Pitt and Wake Forest playing ref ball right now, and it's primarily benefiting the latter team.

Oddly, despite being members of the same conference, this is only the second meeting between Pitt and Wake Forest.  Pitt won the first, 34-13 in 2018.

That's not really odd. Pitt's only been in the ACC for a decade and cross-division games are rare.

Too bad the sh**tty ACC refs can't call a f***king hold to save their lives.

Can we talk about how impressive Utah St scoring 46 against San Diego St is? The Aztec defense is no joke, or at least I thought so before the game.

Agreed, that's probably the most surprising development of the day so far.

With Iowa dismantled and the only possible team that could jump Cinci way down at #9, it looks like we have Alabama, Georgia, Cinci, and Michigan as our playoff teams. I believe they'll end up fiddling with the rankings to get us to Alabama-Cinci and Georgia-Michigan as our playoff games.

Also congratulations to Lincoln Riley, who will soon have a sparkly new loss to Cal to start his tenure at USC, as he is currently down 17-7 at the half to a 4-7 Cal.

My guess as to what the committee will do for the final playoff rankings:

1. Cincinnati (as the only unbeaten left, with the win over Notre Dame, Cincinnati will move up again. The question is whether they get #2 seed or the #1 seed.)

2. Michigan (The loss to Michigan State keeps Michigan from getting the 1 seed)

3. Georgia (Georgia has looked better all season than Alabama has, and ranks higher based on the season long eye test)

4. Alabama (Alabama finishes behind Georgia based on looking worse then Georgia in their wins, and because of their loss to Texas A&M)

It will almost certainly be Alabama at #1 and Cincinnati at #4. Georgia vs. Michigan could go either way, but they'll probably give Michigan #2.

WEEK 14 RESULTS

This doesn't include next Saturday's Army-Navy game.  I'll do another update after it.

Illiniwek wins the week with 9-2, two games ahead of Terry.  Full results:

9 Illiniwek
7 Terry
6 GeorgiaModerate, NYE
5 Dereich, Donerail, ExtremeRepublican, JGibson

There were 3 unanimous picks:

San Diego State-Utah State (wrong)
Cincinnati-Houston
Michigan-Iowa

And 3 games with a single dissenter:

UTSA-Western Kentucky
Georgia-Alabama (dissenter was right)
Army-Navy (pending)

This week's result shaved a game off Donerail's overall lead, which is now four games.  Year to date (335 games):

212 Donerail
208 GeorgiaModerate, NYE
207 Dereich
203 Terry
200 ExtremeRepublican
189 Illiniwek
180 JGibson
92 Dingo Joe

I might actually have a chance at winning this.

Sure, I'll need to be practically perfect in the bowls, but it's doable now.

Yep, Cincinnati will get sent to Alabama and lose by about 35.
