Not the Senate race, but Jackson dropped into the 14th:

Alma Adams will be stepping side in 2024 for him, I presume.

It's the right thing to do! If you compare Job Approvals Biden is in a much worse Situation to Obama in February 2010.

1) This race should have never been rated a Toss-up in the first place.

2) They should have never waited 15 months to move it out of Toss-up.

3) By now, you could make a better case for rating it Safe R than Lean R.

Safe R now that we have the first GCB poll out: R+12. The Republican will win by double digits.

Lol it's not plus 12 IPSOS had us leading 42/34 that is a lie R 12 and the Morning Consult poll had Biden dead even at 47 percent

Trump backed Ted Budd is struggling
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/03/09/trump-budd-north-carolina-struggles-senate-primary-00015472

And to be quite frank: Pat McCrory was always the safer bet to lock down this Senate Race.

Budd is leading in fund-raising and the polls are essentially tied. Will be interesting if ad buys from Club For Growth can pull Budd ahead.

I'd rather have someone to lock this Race up early and not have to spent up money and Resources in NC. McCrory would lock this up! If Budd or Walker is the Nominee there is always a chance those two would make some inflamatory racist remarks against a Black Female Candidate in Beasley and put this Seat back in play.

I am worried about that!

LMAO there's one person who wouldn't win NC-SEN by over 5 points and it's not Budd.

Unfortunate thing for Budd is that he can't exactly drop back down to the house now his seat is well and truly butchered. If he doesn't win the Senate primary he'll just have to hope the GOP redraws the house map to gerrymander him a seat back next year.

Not really. It makes sense given the lane he sits in in the GOP primary.

The lane he is in is "uninformed voters who remember him as governor" since he has way higher name rec than Budd. This doesn't help him.

Budd was going to be known anyway. This ad seeks to ensure that McCrory defines Budd before he can define himself.
"Costing NC Republicans a Senate seat"
The message being that this is what Ds *want* GOPers to choose in the primary and if we give them what they want, we'll lose in November.

Just Pat McCrory doing what Pat McCrory does best- blowing what should be a slam dunk victory, be it in a primary or in a general election. Ask anyone from my state!

If the man could even remotely visualize the room (let alone read it), he’d still be the favorite to win.

This is a very weak argument coming from someone who cost NC Republicans the governorship in a solid year for the GOP.

McCrory still gets unfairly blamed for a lot by just about everyone on all sides of the political spectrum, but he’s also just about the last person you’d want to be making such an argument.

That's true. I didn't say it was necessarily likely to work either. Just that it wasn't a suicidal line of attack.
Giving this more thought, he's probably still better off not airing this ad on net.

I mean there was that poll a few weeks ago that said that 70% of voters including a majority of Republicans want to move on from the 2020 election I don't think this ad is nearly as damaging as some people here make it out to be.

He's setting himself up to be Burr's heir. Whether or not this will be helpful is up to the primary voters. Most primary voters are more partisan so this is likely to hurt him, but if he manages to win the primary, he could be in a stronger spot with moderates & independents.
