Chatham County (Savannah) is only at 1% on CNN.  Is Savannah the largest city in Georgia outside the Atlanta area?

Still large Republican counties outstanding and we're already having our celebratory jerkoff - quite literally, for some of you. Ah well, better than the usual doomer stuff.

But my heart's been pounding through my chest for the last couple hours and that hasn't stopped regardless of how good things might look now. Not a bad time to take my Xanax.

All of you need to stop saying this. No one is doing it. And yes, there is still R counties out, but the picture is getting more and more clear. At this point, it would be surprising if those counties outstanding buck the trend. Anything can happen, but it's not looking as likely

I actually do think the Democrats are favored right now, but ever since 2016 I have entered every election night in "wait and see" mode. Republicans have managed to pull off surprise victories somewhere in every single one except for Doug Jones' win. I'm not popping champagne or waving the white flag yet.

Perhaps all the attacks on Warnock's faith actually backfired by motivating black voters to turn out.

He deserves a Nobel peace prize for not going nuclear on her. She ran an absolutely disgusting campaign.

It's happening everywhere in the rurals, even the blue ones. The GOP is dropping more than the dems proportionally.

If both Democrats carry this election, it might lend more credence to the general observation on southern states in the modern day alignment. If they flip D, they don't come back.
North Carolin and Florida beg to differ

But I do hope that Georgia becomes a solid D state

It’s possible he was slightly stronger but Loeffler was much weaker than Perdue, but really it’s tiny differences.

In terms of representation for non-Puerto Rico territories, I think it would make sense to give each of them one House seat but no Senate seats. This gives them representation but still accounts for their small size so they aren't overrepresented. I'm not sure the Constitution would allow this though.

I’d offer the GOP a compromise they have one day to take it: constitutional amendment giving DC 1 Senate seat and 2 House seats to equal their 3 EV. Puerto Rico admitted as a state as normal.

Extremely premature but in a hypothetical scenario.

Let the DC Senators join immediately with PR in 2022.

This isn’t happening btw don’t for a second thing I’m silly enough to fall for the mirage

When Forsyth & Cherokee Counties come in-  Dems will lose close to 100,000 votes from their lead.

While I would have voted for Purdue myself, I have to say that IF Loeffler loses tonight, it will make for one happy PQG.

Is there anything in particular you don't like about Loeffler beyond that she's robotic and probably more Trump-aligned than Perdue?

Ok, thanks!

Those 3 are consolidated city counties. Chatham is the largest county.

Ok, thanks!

However, Chatham County is the largest non-ATL area county.

Perdue was also considered stronger than loeffler, so it balances out somewhat

The writers came up with a great twist in having the Republicans lose the Senate because Trump had to be a whiny b!tch for two months but they refused to support him on the one thing he wanted that was popular. Also bringing back Ossoff, a forgotten character from the first act and making him one of the big heroes at the end was an interesting touch.

Why do you insist on embarrassing yourself? Have you forgotten all you’re claims about Georgia on 11/3?

It's hilarious how bad the FL Dem Party is compared to the GA Dem Party in terms of competency and candidate qualities.

unfortunately we do have someone like stacey abrams in FL

Anybody know why Ossoff's needle numbers have gone down 3% in the last couple minutes while Warnock's have held steady?

EDIT: welp, not anymore! Smiley

Some want Joe Manchin or Krysten Sinema to switch parties this week, if there is a 50-50 tie.

I don't think that would happen.

Manchin controls the Senate and can personally shut down anything his enemies on the left flank want. He's much more powerful as a Democrat than as a Republican, especially if he's retiring after this term.

Sinema seems even less likely. She's a mainstream center Dem like her fellow AZ Dem Senator.

True.

That was 3 minutes, he's back up to a commanding and unassailable 0.6.
