It's not official yet. Lot of fraud allegations

Yeah, by Trump himself and no one else. There is nothing there. There would have to be systemic fraud over multiple states for Trump to win and we don't have any evidence of that anywhere in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT.

Far right chilean "patriots" supporting Trump in front of the US embassy just before the announcement

I'm praying for Trump. I realize that he lost the race and has to have the moral and mental strength to do what is right for our country. I want a fair and accurate count of the votes but once that is done I'd hope Trump accept what is right.

And if he doesn’t concede and commit to a peaceful transfer of power you’ll side against him?

To Jessica's credit, she has been fairly rational this whole thread. We obviously don't agree at all,
and she wanted Trump, but she appears to be a pragmatist who realizes he lost per the rules, and that him not ceding power would be endlessly damaging to America.

Can we split up this thread into "CELEBRATION" posts and posts related to actual results and exit polls?  There are still votes being counted and some of us come here to get updates.

Susan Collins would, unironically, be a fairly good and qualified Transportation secretary in a Biden administration.

Clever trick if it works. Could the same be done in Pennsylvania with Toomey? Might be worth putting a few Republicans in the Cabinet if it gets a sneaky Senate majority.

There's no way any Republican Senator would agree to this unless their state has a Republican governor or if the Democratic governor is bound by law to appoint another Republican. This idea stands zero chance of working.

You never know. The right kind of senator might take the deal. The right kind of power-hungry. If Brian Kemp was a Senator he'd take the Cabinet position in a second.

Burr is retiring in 2022, he may be willing to leave early for a Cabinet position (or Ambassador to Italy or whatever he fancies).

Aside from his being a walking-&-talking ethics controversy, Cooper would be forced to appoint a Republican, so that would pretty much render such a plan moot.
Damn, but still, how does the ‘has to appoint a Republican’ work? Do they get a list from the state GOP or is it any registered Republican?
Because if it’s the later Cooper could have some fun with it.

State GOP gives Cooper 3 people to choose from.  Same system as Hawaii.

And knowing how conservative our state GOP is... they'd pick someone closer to Mark Meadows than Richard Burr. It would be a disaster. Burr is a partisan hack, but he's not a lunatic. They'd pick lunatics.

What is the recount limit in Georgia?

Isn't the recount a limit of 0.5% rather than an actual numerical value.

I was listening to "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" on the way over to my aunts' house where we're watching Biden's speech and celebrating with champagne.

There's going to be recount the Georgia Republcians are sore and already ordered one even though the candidate is supposed to do so and also pay for it.

(by the way, BRTD definitely approves of this image.)

99.5% confidence is an absurd standard that they haven’t used before and for that matter weren’t using when they made their earlier calls.
And PA and Georgia have likely both passed it by this point.

99.5% is the standard that has been used by decision desks for many elections now. They were using it when they made the earlier calls.

Yeah, they stated this standard a long time ago.

Great stuff. People are going to chant "loser" at him for the rest of his life. It's entirely his fault.

They should add in "sucker," too.

For those asking, the recount threshold in GA is 0.5%.  Biden would need another +15,000 votes (give or take) to avoid this limit.
