He looks like a president Purple heart

We don't need another centrist sellout who looks the part.

Uncle Joe isn't a sellout. He's a pargamtist who can get stuff done. A staunch leftist won't pass meaningful reforms through congress. He or she would only be signing executive orders that will be blocked by courts and/or revoked by the next president. Also, the Democrats won the House in 2018 by winning over moderate suburbanites, which are important in 2020 as well. Bernie won't do as well here than Biden or Harris.

Biden isn't even a moderate anymore. He wants to give health insurance to undocumented immigrants. He supports $15 minimum wage. He dropped support for the Hyde amendment. If I want to vote for a leftwinger (and I don't particularly want to), I'd rather support Elizabeth Warren who actually understands the issues.

If you want a pragmatist, support Steve Bullock. He has a better record and he's 20 years younger than Biden too.

You're really gonna sit there and gatekeep race, huh?

I mean, it's not like anyone gets banned for making blatantly racist posts without the threat of mod resignations and Dave's direct intervention combining to drag a certain ModAdmin kicking and screaming into dropping the ban hammer until there ceases to be a real deterrent that could discourage posters who lack basic human decency from being their worst selves on Atlas.

Steve Bullock used to be my first choice and I like him a lot, but unfortunately I don't see how he's making it. He better runs for senate because Democrats must defeat Cocaine Mitch. He's so toxic.

He doesn't have any magical powers to get legislation through GOP obstruction - not unless Democrats control Congress and eliminate the filibuster. This is the same thing a person Sanders or Warren would have to do in order to get things done. People like Mitch McConnell don't give a hoot about pragmatism or bipartisanship. All of this is a game to him, and every single part of it is open to manipulation. It's quite tiring to see politicians try and sell a story that they can somehow work with people like Mitch. They can't and they never will be able to. They are just telling voters what they want to hear so they can obtain power.

Even if Dems do take control of Congress, they will face the same problem as the GOP majority has which is money. Dont forget unanimous consent is needed for all bills to be brought to floor. Even eliminating filibuster doesnt undo that.

GoP can still as minority,  block things, like reparations,  that are out of mainstream.  So, a 22T deficit will still hamper a Dem majority

When he “gets stuff done” it’s usually to the detriment of core Democratic constituencies. No thanks.

Most people in most crowds still nervously laugh at off-colour jokes when people are bold enough to make them, though I guess he's right that it has progressed slightly in the last five years. To be honest, I'm not sure how this is controversial... all the power to you if you do stand up and say something, whether in 2014 or today.

Kamala Harris is objectively not African American, ethnically or culturally. African American is a very well defined ethnic group. She is not in it. She is Black, of African descent, and an American but she is not African American. Furthermore, her experience is very removed from African American culture. Same as Obama. Republicans will probably nominate an actual African American before the Democrats ever do.

I love it when racist white dudes think they can say whether someone is really black or not. as Del Tachi said, you're disgusting.

The most interesting part of the post was the comment: "Furthermore, her (Harris) experience is very removed from African American culture."
What does this even mean? And how does one (anyone) determine if another person is "removed from a specific culture?"

Do you think it's common in African American culture to be raised Hindu in Canada?

Not to mention other chunks of her life in West Berkeley are. West Berkeley, West Oakland, East Oakland, Richmond, these are all very heavily black areas in the Bay Area, and arguably the largest black population you'll find outside west of The Mississippi.

I literally said multiple times that she is Black and American.

So what does her culture or upbringing have to do with her being African American (and I don't care too much about this term)? That term generally refers to a specific racial/ethnic group rather than a specific culture and upbringing. Even within the group, there is some level of cultural diversity.

Unfortunate,  Carol Mosley Braun just endorsed Biden. This is right after Jesse Jackson said we must not have a Biden coronation. Blacks should consider Harris

This. He also needs to do much better on a debate stage with Trump.

You seriously think Trump is going to agree to debate his opponent?

Yes, he likes being on TV. He proably feels "safer" now than in 2016 since he's been in office for over three years.

The reason for Biden's lead is that Sanders is collapsing in IA. Warren is in second place in IA. In order for Harris to win, Warren has to win IA and then, NH would be wide open to Harris or Warren. Which is still a possibility

Considering the post-debate polls, he'd be foolish not to. Another performance like that might be what it takes for him to drop from first place. It can definitely happen.

If Biden or Sanders doesn't win New Hampshire, it will be Warren.  New England is one place where the neighboring state effect matters.
