Yes, of course, they're Massive FFs

This is obviously unacceptable. With that said, Republicans can't go back and forth on racism based on how politically convenient it is.

So this was Barbara's opposition research!

Anyway, this severely harms my opinion of the man.

Fairfax would win by 3-4 points in 2021

Then Herring can run in 2025

I wonder if VA GOP could get George Allen's son Forrest to run.

Congratulations Governor of Virginia Justin Fairfax.

I have since learned that this image comes from a what is basically a fake news outlet set up by Roy Moore. It's still possible that they just got lucky and were the first to find it, but I think it's a very real possibility that this is fake. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

I guess you win the prize for media literacy in this thread. Andrew Yang and SirWoodbury lose.
I'd like to take that prize if you wouldn't mind.

Sorry, no. Still not the case.

Taking reports from a site which became known by distributing Qanon and Seth Rich conspiracy theories at face value without any confirmation by reliable sources as you did still shows a lack of media literacy, irrespective whether this particular story turns out to be true in the end.

No, but it DOES show whether or not progressives are consistent when it comes to being woke.

If Brendan Eich's ONE PAST donation to an anti-marriage equality campaign means he has to step down as CEO of Mozilla, that means Northam has to resign.

If Al Franken's PAST incidents of groping women means he has to give up his Senate seat, then Northam has to give up his.

If Paula Deen's PAST usage of the n-word (and from what I understand, it was only once or twice) means she has to lose her public notoriety forever, then Northam has to surrender his political glory.

If you're woke for these people, then you gotta be woke for Northam, too.

Iirc she also had plantation style restaurants going on where only black people served food. It wasn’t just saying the word that was the issue with her.

You missed where I said it was unacceptable. My point is that you can't pretend that racism doesn't exist, but then acknowledge that it does when it is beneficial to your cause. Racism is everywhere.

It's one event from 30 years ago. He should apologize. Shouldn't end his career.

This is one of those "I'm not saying a darned thing until it's confirmed" type of situations.
It's beyond confirmed now. Too bad Gillespie's people didn't find this, then we wouldn't have this pathetic disgrace as our governor.

Four things are, I think, obvious to everyone here:

1) Ralph Northam needs to resign immediately

2) God really likes screwing with Ed Gillespie

3) You [SirWoodbury] couldn't care less whether Northam is a racist and are only excited about this because Northam is a Democrat and you (wrongly, I suspect) believe Democrats are going to defend Northam

4) You [SirWoodbury] criticizing anyone else's racist behavior is basically the pot calling the kettle black,

I went to college in the early 1980's.  One of my fraternity brothers, a year older, was a DSA-type socialist.  We were invited to a "Black-and-White" party.  If you never heard of them, they were a European artsy bohemian invention that had nothing to do with race.  You came dressed in only black and white.  No colors allowed.  The house hosting the party was decorated only in black and white, down to every detail: drapes, curtains, furniture, napkins, utensils, etc. etc.

So my fraternity brother thought it would be funny if he showed up in blackface.  Oh, the irony!  The campus socialist dressed up in a racist trope.  Me, I brought my tuxedo cat (a black and white cat, in case you're not a crazy cat person), who I brought back home (I lived just a few doors down) after a half-hour.

It wasn't funny then.  It was in bad taste.  No, xxxxx, you don't get a pass because everybody on campus knows you're a socialist and you think people will find the "irony" funny.

Wow. He needs to resign immediately.

What if he says it was from 1984? Do you expect people to know the meaning of blackface and KKK costumes in a Old South of 1984 that still elected people like Helms, Thurmond and Lott?
