No worries, I’m sure there’s a D-OH avatar lying dead amidst the carnage somewhere on the island Tongue

Honestly wild how this sort of thing keeps on happening. Like, at this rate Pete Buttigieg is going to tout an endorsement from Barack Obama before Super Tuesday.

Pete apparently just had a stunning CNN town hall debate performance again:

Got minute-long standing ovations from the crowd afterwards.

Fine, I'll apologize for perpetuating this conspiracy and I'm sincerely sorry Lis Smith was criticized for this thing she had no involvement in.

I guess we'll just have to go back to the list of terrible things she has verifiably done and said.
What's not to like about Lis Smith?

Bernie isn't going to be the nominee so I don't see the point.

Why do you think that? He's the only one with a credible path to a majority.

What’s Pete’s plan going to be when he loses? If Trump gets re-elected he won’t have a cabinet position, if he runs for Congress or a statewide position he’ll look like an opportunist and would probably lose by 20 points again, and if he runs again 2024 and loses his political career is over.

McKinsey is a much more powerful role than Congress. As is CIA Director.

Given how NH went, that's clearly not happening.

Indiana is a non-starter, so his only chance would be to shamelessly carpetbag. Find some state that he thinks he could win, move there, and run for Senate or maybe Governor. It worked for Hillary Clinton, so it could work for him.

Maybe he could run for Rob Portman's Senate seat in 2022? He's moderate enough to be competitive in OH, and since it's still a hard state to win for a Democrat carpetbagging might be viewed as doing the party a favor by many.

Buttigieg has zero chance of becoming President, he has a small chance of becoming VP, but we were discussing a scenario where he ended up not getting on the ticket and outside the cabinet

And there’s zero chance he’d carpetbag to another state; what’s your point?

Pete got 2% of the Black vote in Nevada & 8-9% odd of the Hispanic vote. It is over & it is time for him to drop out.

He has no path while getting 2% of the Black vote.

Pete has nothing to be ashamed of. He was supposed to be an irrelevant and forgotten 0%er like Eric Swalwell or Michael Bennet. Instead he became a legitimate force in the primary and probably even won the first contest.

With that said, he clearly has no path to the nomination whatsoever. His candidacy has run its course and he should promptly drop out while still on a sort of high note.

@PeteButtigieg
This past Fall, we were campaigning near Reno, and in the middle of my remarks, the power went out completely. I was speaking to a dark room, with no microphone, raising my voice to make myself heard.

@PeteButtigieg
It only took a moment, but then something happened. One person held up the glowing screen of their phone. And then another, and then another, everyone holding up their lit phones together, until the whole room lit up.

@PeteButtigieg
And I couldn’t see who was who, behind each light—who was young and who was old, who was white and who was Black or Latino or Asian or native, who was on two feet and who was in a wheelchair.

@PeteButtigieg
I saw each little light and knew that behind it was an American who saw the lights go out and knew to do something about it. All it took was one person, and others began to do the same.

@PeteButtigieg

If we can light up a high school gym—we can light a neighborhood.

If we can light up a neighborhood—we can light a city.

If we can light up a city—we can light up our country.

@PeteButtigieg
To those who questioned whether a Midwestern mayor could gather a national movement around a new kind of politics—your are the answer. And to everyone who believes in what we’re building—this is your night. This is your campaign.

This is a ripoff of one of Obama's great speech lines.

“One voice can change a room, and if one voice can change a room, then it can change a city, and if it can change a city, it can change a state, and if it change a state, it can change a nation, and if it can change a nation, it can change the world. Your voice can change the world.”
