Well it seems that Never Again has forgotten about how he became a delegate in the first place. I and atlasia have now.

It was Governor diptheriadan who appointed him to replace a laborite.

His treachery will not be long forgotten. Never again will the Federalists appoint another laborite to replace a resigning laborite.
diptheriadan was an Independent/NTPP member when he made the appointment.

By the way, why do you mention this? If I recall correctly, you had deregistered from the game.

I had not. I was registered. Nev not only chose to appoint a Laborite to replace me when there was no replacement necessary.

But... setting a precedent that there will be no more 'gentlemen's agreements' is awesome.

Nev could have simply left well enough alone, no?

But instead he just *had* to nominate a Laborite.

At least some good comes out of it.

Given the announcement of Classic conservative I would like to announce the following.

We are setting up a new chamber in the South - to represent a fourth region.

We are declaring all the current laws within the south are null and void within the new region of "Texas".

Current atlasian citizens of the south are welcome to apply to join our new region.

Well, lets see. The people of the South elected me, so I intend to represent my constituency, Mr. Cuber.

Represent your constituency by leaving 85+% of it? and by resigning?

I represent my constituency by participating in debate in the Chamber.

Where did I resign? The governor removed a sitting delegate. Of course parts of the south are going to rebel when they are deprived of their elected delegate.

Ben you either are trolling (likely) or you have some form of amnesia or a similar condition.

I am effectively resigning my position as Delegate.

I have decided to retire from the Atlas.

From Article II, Section 2 of the Fourth Constitution,

"No Region shall secede from this Republic but by a 3/4 vote of the citizens thereof, nor shall any Region, state, or other entity declare itself outside the jurisdiction of this Constitution so long as it remains party to this Union."

Hot take: the Region of Texas is colluding with the Kremlin to hack our elections.

So the federal government is going to invade Texas? We're not leaving the Feds.

We're leaving the South.

We've had 4 regions before and I don't see why we can't restore a 4th region again.

Encke needs to read a little bit more closely. Again, I am not calling to leave the Atlas, but rather the South.

This is irrelevant, as the regions are defined in the Constitution, and making a fourth one would require an amendment.

As was made clear in #SouthernChat, such actions are still unlawful under both the Southern and federal constitutions.  You have no legal authority to nullify existing laws and establish a new legislature, as the state of Texas does not exist separately from the boundaries of the Southern Region, as enshrined by the Fourth Constitution.

CXSmith,

I'm perfectly willing to have the state of Texas decide via referendum if it wants to leave the South.

I fully agree on this, as I have stated in the IRC channel.

The main problem with a fourth region is that it is basically undoing consolidation and with a single state the population would like be 10 people at most, therefore not enough to sustain offices.

A fourth region would entail an increase in then number of offices when you factor in 2 Senators, Governor, an a legislature of at least 3, and another Supreme Court Justice, so you are looking at adding at least 7 offices.
