In political news, Cotton spoke to the Political Animals Club in Little Rock, mostly on Obamacare.

It's interesting - whether he talks on other themes or he is like some talking heads, who always speaks the same.

Reid: I could've gotten Pryor's nuke vote had I needed it. One could say the same about all of Pryor's important votes, partially excepting guns.

Both Hagan and Landrieu are signing up for the Obamacare plans in their states instead of getting the federal plan. Anything from Pryor, Rogue?

Pryor's sticking with the federal plan, and Cotton's hammering him for it on social media.

Ugh. Begich started with that a few weeks ago and I'm glad Landrieu and Hagan have too. I don't see why Pryor wouldn't; it just makes him look bad.

Pryor has seemed rather limp thus far in the campaign. In other news, Cotton's out with a soft bio ad featuring his mother.

Pryor scores an own goal by criticizing Cotton for opposing Dodd-Frank, which Pryor himself admitted hurt community banks.

Finally!

Make of this what you will but here's a comparison of the Facebook likes for some Senate campaigns Cotton is impressive; he's by far leading the group at over 90K. The next best that I can think of is Maness, who isn't listed, but is pushing 80K, atm.

WSJ on the Senate race. Pryor is either spinning or oblivious, since it isn't 2002 anymore.

Pryor goes, umm, Biblical in his new ad. He stresses his Christian faith and talks about the Bible as his 'compass' in decision-making.

Even from my southern socon view, I wouldn't wear this stuff out on my sleeve too much. But, I guess its the holiday season and its, 'ya know, Arkansas.

At least its nice that both the candidates are running positive ads for change though. This will be a nice reprieve before the real actions starts next year!

As Kos pointed out, this isn't Pryor's first time with Bible ads. Though '02 had a specific context, this time it doesn't. For some reason RRH thinks this is a sign Pryor could jump, which is ridiculous. If Lincoln didn't jump, why would Pryor?

NRSC attacks Pryor for his Bible ad, Cotton tells them to back off. Also, Rubio's PAC is spending more on pro-Cotton airtime than Cotton himself. Any bets he'll be stumping with Cotton next fall?

That was the same brilliant NRSC spokesman that came up with the 'empty dress' epithet for Grimes.

On most issues I think Reid sets Pryor's compass. As Reid himself said a few days ago.

I'm glad Cotton stepped up and denounced the attack on Pryor's faith.  The statements "The Bible is really not a rulebook for political issues" and "The Bible is my compass, my North Star" don't even contradict each other in the context of what he's saying, anyway.

NJ has another long, almost adulatory Cotton profile. Only missing a True Grit reference. IMO they're missing the point: Republicanization and Pryor are key here, though Cotton's an excellent candidate.

In all honestly I wouldn't mind seeing Pryor go down in 2014 it's getting to the point where he hardly votes with the party anyways. If this is what it takes for us to win this seat then its not worth it religious pandering and bible thumping is a disgusting part of politics.

IMHO - absolute BS and foolishness of such magnitude, that's it's even difficult to characterize it in any, but "dirty", words. According to ALL vote records sites Pryor votes with the party about 50% of time, while any Republican - will not vote with Democrats even 10% of time. Difference is extremely substantial. Let Pryor goes to church daily, let him quote Bible in every ad he runs, and let him quote Bible not by words and phrases, but by chapters!. If neccessary - let him read a WHOLE book, from beginning to the end, ALOUD! If all that helps him to win, and (who knows) gives Democrats 50th seat (with Biden as tiebreaker) - a quite possible situation with losses in Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia guaranteed, and in Louisiana and North Carolina - quite possible,  let be it!!!!!

I agree. Why make the good the enemy of the perfect? Pryor is the best type of Democrat we can get in this seat. Could he be a little more populist? Yes. Could he run a better campaign? Sure. Should he stop mentioning God? Absolutely Not. If that's what gets him to win, why should he not use it. He's actually a deeply religious man, so it's not as if he's being disingenuous...
