I want Pryor to win of course, but it wouldn't exactly break my heart if he lost either (unless his seat was the tipping point, which it probably won't be).

Pryor voted against 3 Obama judicial nominees, but that's catch and release IMO. As for populism, Pryor recently tried Medicare/SS. No sale. Meanwhile Cotton will attend a fundraiser with Rubio in Miami on Monday. Insert immigration references here, but both Steve King and Rubio are fans.

My problem (and I think most other people on here too would agree with me) with Pryor isn't that he's a blue dog- it's that he's unprincipled- he waffles around in his positions and is unwilling to take a decisive stand on things. Compare him to Mary Landrieu.

Cotton, ex-Ranger, has set up a leadership PAC called "Rangers Lead The Way."

And I continue to believe he will be reelected, but that's my opinion.

Funny, Miles and I were discussing Bubba's influence here earlier today. NYT obliges with an article on that exact subject! Grin

Now Cotton's mocking Pryor, all but calling him a lapdog. Imagine how fun the debates will be.

The first smart decision of his campaign: as much as I disagree with a minimum wage increase, it's the popular thing. Still doesn't shake the image of Mark Pryor as an opportunistic flip flopper who will say and do anything to get elected.

One of those issues that people theoretically like but don't prioritize in practice. So no gain, and liberal feelings about him are seemingly too jaded (or worse) for more than a shrug.

He's a politician. What do you expect?
Steve Daines, Tom Cotton, John Walsh are opportunistic too!

Pryor and Cotton will both be attending the Gillett Coon Dinner tomorrow, a storied local tradition which yes, includes loads of raccoon meat. Tongue Cotton will also be opening his HQ in Little Rock.

Once again, insiders of both parties easily peg Pryor as the most vulnerable Senator.

Interesting: Cotton's team is mostly volunteers, much like his House run. I understand you don't need a whole suite in a small, cheap state but I'd have expected 15-20 or so. Tongue

Pryor wants a community or public service requirement for the UI extension.

Pryor raised $1.1 million in Q4 and ended last year with $4.2 million COH. No figures for Cotton yet, but Pryor raised an almost identical amount in Q3. That quarter Cotton outraised him by about $25k IIRC.

lose.
