Momentum Stopped - Super Tuesday Looms

In a stunner, Mitch Daniels came from behind this week and upset Kay Bailey Hutchison in Michigan - many felt a win in both contests would essentially end the GOP contest, but Daniels breathed new life with a win here. Super Tuesday is going down to the wire - Hutchison is currently favored in the delegate-rich states of Georgia and Ohio, while Ayotte is looking good in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Alaska, where Sarah Palin has been a tremendous boost to the Senator. The key states to watch will be Ohio and Virginia - both are swing states in the General Election, and polls show that either Ayotte, Daniels, or Hutchison could win either of them. A victory in both states could vault both Ayotte and Daniels into the frontrunner status.

(Sorry for being slow these last couple of days - unfortunately, a lot of energy seems to have escaped from this game with the mini-break...hopefully we can return it!)

- Nathan Deal endorses Kay Bailey Hutchison!
- Bill Haslam endorses Mitch Daniels!
- Governor Parnell also throws support behind Ayotte!
- Kasich reaffirms support for Daniels, while Jean Schmidt endorses Ayotte!
- George Allen endorses Hutchison!

This turn will last for 72 hours! Please PM me on which states would would like to see polled.

Michigan Victory Speech:

"Thank you! What a night! We did it! They wrote us off, but we won Michigan! This only proves that this race is not over, and that we will continue to fight until the end, as long as Americans keep believing in our message and I believe in them. That's the reason behind this race, mutual trust between the voters and the candidate, and I think that is what really makes this campaign.

And let me tell you something, at the beginning I didn't wanted to run, and I didn't want to win and be President. You know what changed my mind? It was a young man. A young man by the name of Michael Knowles, who one day decided that he wanted to see me running for President. He created his own Super PAC, "Students for Daniels", and he recruited people to help him. Time after time I refused, until I realized something. These were young men, who weren't involved in politics, who had an entire life ahead of themselves, but that wanted me to run.

And it dawned on me that it was worth it. If they wanted me to run, if they believed so hard that I could win and change this country, I was not going to disappoint them. And I ran. I was the frontrunner and I won Iowa, I was the underdog and I won Minnesota, and I was the comeback kid and I won Michigan. Michael is an actor and a writer now, and I'm honored that such a talented young man inspired me to run on this race... I give you my most sincere thanks, Michael, this victory goes for you and your friends!

We now go onto Super Tuesday, to face the real test, to fight for what we believe and send the message to Washington!"

I was thinking about a Fox News - Pepsi Co - Trump GOP Primary Debate, hosted by Donald Trump and Ann Coulter (Terrible Team anyway). It will be funny and I'll try to mix jokes and questions on the program. I think that it could be funny, entertaining and it would make the dynamics of this thread more interesting!

What do you say? I already have some questions in mind... Smiley

Mitch Daniels's Schedule: February 29 to March 6, 2012:

"Mitch is back on the game"Sad

"I can see the momentum growing! Senator Hutchison may be the frontrunner right now, but that's about to change! We won the last debate, we pulled an upset in Michigan, we have a strong organization in Virginia, Wyoming and Ohio, and we are not going to stop right now! The Daniels campaign is full of surprises, and we are not running low on them!"

February 29th:

Bus Tour in Canton, OH.
Bus Tour in Parma, OH.
Bus Tour in Youngstown, OH.
Barnstorm and Rally in Columbus, OH.

"I'm proud to have Senator Portman and Governor Kasich with me while travelling on the state! They are both great leaders of the GOP, tireless fighters for our beliefs, and good men. Who knows? Ohio might be getting a Vicepresident very soon... (Laughs) Let's continue the optimism and the momentum growing, Ohio, I'm counting on you!"

March 1st:

Bus Tour in Lorain, OH.
Bus Tour in Hamliton, OH.
Rally in Cinncinatti, OH.
Bus Tour in Springfield, OH.
Barnstorm and Rally in Cleveland, OH.

"We need to rethink our aproach as a government towards college students. The insane amounts of debt we have right are making things a lot worse that what they should be, and thouse young people, who are supposed to be the sucessful future of America, find themselves broke, in debt and unable to find jobs. Do we really want that for them? Do we really want them to see the American dream shattered in a thousand pieces? It's all about the deficit, don't forget that."

March 2nd:

Barnstorm and Rally in Norfolk, VA.
Barnstorm and Rally in Richmond, VA.
Rally in Arlington, VA.
Town Hall in Portsmouth, VA.
Town Hall in Lynchburg, VA.

"I want to have a serious talk with you about politics. It's likely what some of you in the audience voted for President Obama in 2008, and I don't blame you. Hope and Change was a catchy slogan, and everything was set against the republicans... And yet, we didn't face a landslide, our own landslide came in 2010. I invite you to join us, to regain your enthusiasm for the GOP, to believe that we deserve to win because we are the party of ideas, the party of the middle class, the party that brings true progress... And not progress in the way some liberals understand it, but true progress, progress that you can see and you can touch."

March 3rd:

Barnstorm and Rally in Virginia Beach, VA.
Barnstorm and Rally in Chesapeake, VA.
Rally in Alexandria, VA.
Town Hall in Suffolk, VA.
Town Hall in Roanoke, VA.

"How do I manage to get the stress off my back? It's not easy, and I hardly have time to sleep, so I have to work with what I have to feel relaxed... Believe it or not, the debate training always makes my happy. Why? It's because those sessions are always in buses or airplanes, so whoever is travelling with me has to play a part. And I'm telling you, there's nothing more hilarious than watching Condi Rice trying to play Michelle Bachmann or Sen. Hutchinson, Tim Pawlenty trying to imitate Governor Huntsman and Senator Portman sounding and acting like Governor Romney... I wish you could see those performances."

March 4th:

Bus Tour in Toledo, OH.
Bus Tour in Cinncinatti, OH.
Bus Tour in Akron, OH.
Rally in Cleveland, OH.
Barnstorm and Rally in Columbus, OH.

"Seeing the news that come out of the White House you might believe that things are fine. After the American Jobs act, the President suddenly dissapeared... I mean, I know he is busy, I know his schedule is very hard and that he tries to do his best, but seriously, where is he? So far the only thing we have is Vice President Biden and President Clinton giving comment after comment on our race. I think there are some more important matters that they should be discussing..."

March 5th:

Barnstorm and Rally in Virginia Beach, VA.
Barnstorm and Rally in Hampton, VA.
Rally in Burke, VA.
Rally in Reston, VA.
Rally in Centreville, VA.

"We're almost there, Virginia! The last polls had us at a tie with Senator Hutchison, and I'd like to think that our efforts will be answered and that we will win tomorrow. I need your help to achieve the goals of my campaign, and I'm confident that you will give the victory in the primary. And not only that, I also believe that you will give your confidence in the general election, and that we will retake Virginia for the GOP!"

March 6th:

Morning: Fly to Tennesee, Rallies in Memphis and Nashville.
Afternoon: Fly to Ohio, Rallies in Columbus and Cinncinatti.
Night: Victory Party at National Campaign HQ in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"Wow, it's been a while since I visited this place. It sad to be away from Indiana for such a long time, but I'm happy to return home for the night. Because this night is not like any other night, this is a special night, a night to remember. This is the night we retake the lead on the race, the night the Daniels campaign upset again and won Ohio and Virginia. I don't have doubts at this point, we are going to take the nomination and then we are going to beat the President! I really look forward for the next nine months, for they are going to be really intense! I started my campaign late in October, after more relevant candidates had spent months of campaign... And look where we are right now. We are not going to stop tonight, tomorrow or in November! We will go forward until the end!"

Statement of Donald Trump about the 2012 Race

You know what? This Presidential Race is starting to become pretty boring! I want to make a Debate; I'll be hosting and I'll make things incredible! It is going to be a debate like you have never seen! At the beginning we are going to have some fireworks, then we are going to see some singers and then the debate! It is going to be incredible, not the boring liberal-media malarkey!

"To those questioning where the President is right now, I've got a message. He's working, not out campaigning 24/7 like some candidates out there. He's working with Congress and trying to create jobs. But he'd be open to attending Mr. Trump's proposed debate. It'd be fun for him to get out of the White House and meet with real American heroes like The Donald."

There are certainly several factors which played a role in our success but the largest and certainly most important is y'all. By being vocal and talking to your family and friends you spread our message of a better economy for this glorious nation. Without any one of you we likely wouldn't be here today and I am truly thankful. We've come so far and together we'll go further!"

I strongly urge each one of you, especially those who are undecided, to take a close look at the candidates this race has to offer. In this time of division within our party, I believe we need a candidate who will unite us against the President. With supporters ranging from John Cornyn and John Thune to Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, I am that candidate. We need no more excuses, its time for answers and if you vote for me you'll not only get answers, but action as well."

Other things from Ayotte Campaign

Ad # 1, Hocky Mom

Hello, you all know that I am Sarah Palin, and that I ran in 2008 as the Vice Presidential nominee for John McCain.  This year you decide to vote in the primary's in [insert state], make sure that you vote for Kelly Ayotte.  I know how hard it is being a mother and being in politics and she does it in stride.  She is the epitome of a Hockey mom and she will bring that to the white house.  I'm Kelly Ayotte and I approve this message

Ad will run in Alaska, Ohio, Virginia, ND, and TN.

Tweet from Sarah Palin
Make sure tonight to vote for Kelly, American's Iron Lady #lets win this

Tweet from Rick Santorum
If you still have not voted yet, get out there, you can make the difference #lets win this

OOC: I know the picture is from "This is Engineering", but I couldn't find good pictures of Students for Daniels, so my apologies for that, I'll delete the ad if it's too unrealistic.

New Daniels Ad: "Students for Daniels"Sad (To run in Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois and Hawaii):

Student N°1: In January 2011, we decided that we wanted Mitch Daniels to run. We tried and tried, we created our own Super PAC, and we finally convinced him to run.
Student N°2: Now he is fighting to win the nomination, and he needs our help. We believe that he is the only one who can deal with the debt crisis and help college students across this nation.
Student N°3: We believe that he is the right one, and that he can defeat President Obama and bring real change to the country.
Student N°4: Now that Super Tuesday is here, we have a message for you: Mitch is the one!

Mitch Daniels: These young men inspired me to run for President, and I plan to honor the qualities that they believe I have: Leadership, experience and a honest approach to the issues. I think our campaign has what it takes to win and lead this nation to the right course, and that's why I approved this ad.
