Ballot signature scandals surrounding Craig and I think some other candidates.

Are signature challenges a scandal now? I wasn't aware there were races where they didn't happen. I know campaign staffers who put "challenge signatures" in their standard calendar.

Even if Craig is removed from the ballot, it's not like he was unopposed. The Republicans will have a nominee in a state where turnout and Whitmer's unpopularity should give them a major edge. Perhaps even more so if voters think that they lost their first choice due to election law chicanery.

Based on what I'm reading, the Democrats would need to succeed on over 6,000 challenges. I've never heard of something like that happening.

This in particular is hilarious:

The Democratic challenge to Dixon’s signatures focus on an apparent error in the header of her nominating petitions. The campaign indicated she was running for a term that ends in 2026, but under the Michigan Constitution, the gubernatorial term will actually end on the first day of 2027.

...

“The inaccurate, misleading and false information” included in the header of  “every petition filed by the Dixon campaign violates the Michigan election law and voids those petitions,” [Democratic attorney] Liedel said.

Who says Whitmer is "unpopular"?
She literally broke her own c0vid regulations which comes off as elitist and holier than thou. And you actually believe she's not unpopular?

I wouldn't be to excited yall. Dixon if elected(which is still likelier than not if she makes it to the general) would be worse than Craig

Nah, Whitmer is definitely favored at this point.  Craig was the clear Republican frontrunner for a reason and it would’ve been either Tilt D or Tilt R even with him.  Republicans likely blew this one.
She literally broke her own pandemic restrictions multiple times. You can't tell me that's going to go over well with the voters. I wouldn't be surprised if Mastriano lost and Dixon/Craig/Soldano won and the margin is not close between the two

If MI GOP is smart they would endorse Craig at this point. But they haven't proven themselves to be competent yet

Oh I misunderstood I thought he was running a write in campaign for the general not the primary.

Anyway, Craig is an example of someone who on paper is a strong candidate but can't run a campaign to save their lives(Barletta is another example)

Am I crazy for thinking Republicans could win ME, NM, OR, MN and even CT before winning MI and PA?
I still think Dixon is favored in MI, Lamont is super popular and Jensen is just like Mastriano
But I do agree on ME and NM flipping before PA

FiveThirtyEight model expects Kelly to win the primary and gives Whitmer a 91% chance of beating him.
Thats because 538 are dem hacks who want Whitmer to win, thats why they have Kelly leading. It will probably be Dixon and she's got no worse than a 50 50 chance

What do you guys think about the row offices? Those are really important
Polling has Benson outperforming Nessel, however after the whole DePerno voting machine scandal, I think Nessel ends up outrunning in the end imo.

Jamie Harrison, Cal Cunningham, and Sara Gideon agree that Democrats raising more money is a sign they are winning

You gotta try harder man if thats the best you got.
I mean don't get me wrong I expect all three of these people to win but I've seen Republicans get outspent and still win elections

Kristina Karamo may be one of the worst statewide candidates anywhere this entire cycle, maybe only second to insane deniers like Marchant/Finchem/Mastriano, etc
She’s ten times worse than the former. Marchant/Finchem are just election deniers. Karamo has domestic violence allegations and Mastriano has white supremacist ties

...
Whitmer is overrated as a national candidate for sure. She comes across as a stereotypical "elitist liberal"
