Well, questions made prior are being answered, Cornel West is seeking the Green party endorsement. This primary season just got interesting.

I highly doubt they would endorse him cause of how swampy the Green Party is. Only maybe if he gets a ton of media attention.
The thing is the green party is already fractured enough and Hawkins seems to be at his nadir of support, what with Black Agenda Report promoting electoral abstentionism and how important opposing the Ukrainian war on the home front is to the American Left right now. He could get a lot of traction in the party and convince state chapters to endorse him rather than Hawkins.

Similar situation happened with Nader too, taking up the energy and ballot lines from the 2004 and 2008 candidates. For Cornel West to be successful he need to ask around and get in the primaries and grab the endorsements of all the left wing parties; P&F, SAlt, SPUSA, SCWP, MAWP, and the WCP for the other most relevant players.

Wikipedia is engaging in Hawkins and Prohibition party erasure by not including candidates who have already got the nom or are the frontrunners. Sigh, just like last time.

Marianne Williamson proxy and de facto a Democratic partisan agent has cast the first stone. Vaush has ridiculed the Cornel West campaign.

The change in the SPUSA did not occur, what I posted was by some irrelevant splinter.

Brock Pierce is teasing a third party run.

I'm liking him more and more. May support him if DeSantis wins the primary.

Whomever is a 3rd party candidates won't get 23% they will get 3% or less like Jorgensen because no third party candidates have gotten over 3% since Ross Perot including Gary Johnson and Johnson built his profile like Nadar

Cornel West has switched to the Green Party.

“In the spirit of a broad United Front and coalition strategy, I am pursuing the nomination of the Green Party for President of the United States. Go to CornelWest24.com for more information to continue to support this unprecedented effort to empower precious poor and working people here and abroad. I thank the volunteers of the People's Party for the initial launch!” - West on Twitter

It's all meaningless in every context because he isn't going to clear half a percent of the vote. He is not going to come in third in a single state.

By the way, none of this is an opinion. He has stated multiple times that he wants to eliminate NATO. You are one of the least credible posters on this site and I don't really know who you think you're going to convince that this isn't all a big scam.

"Switched to" is the wrong term. He wants to be the nominee of both, or at least have a number of state Green Parties endorse him so he can get easy ballot access lines. This is probably the only way his campaign can be taken seriously.

Implying People’s will achieve ballot access anywhere but Florida

The backlash their own followers are giving is hilarious.

This thread has had the most activity in a long time by people other than myself. Must mean something is shifting.

Cornel West talks about his campaign with the Green party with Black Agenda Report.

Well, at least one primary this cycle will be competitive.

LOL "social democratic" pole. "Democracy" is part of the word, you know. These people are cheerleaders for autocratic regimes and want to help them with their imperialistic ambitions by abolishing any capability democracies have of maintaining their freedom. Both the Greens and the so-called People's Party cooperated with white supremacists and fascists in a rally to support Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Anyway, Cornel West and his ilk are all losers - dude who refused to support any Democrat since Obama 2008 is not to be taken seriously. It's clear neither him nor his online supporters have any interest in real policy and values, and Democrats are wise to pay them no attention and not try to win them over.

FWIW now, West’s website has absolutely no mention of the People’s Party. Looks like he heard what he had to.

Cornel West is the first candidate in the race I'm actually interested in potentially voting for. Glad that he's looking into securing the Green Party's nomination.

Not that it would matter for me, of course - Indiana has absolutely atrocious ballot access laws, and Stein wasn't on the ballot in either 2012 or 2016 - but here's hoping that his campaign goes well, and he's able to get the ballot access necessary to make a dent in things.

Jacobin is begging West to join the democratic primary. Unbelievably pathetic but expected of the more intelligent leadership in the DSA who know they can’t keep the con of pushing the democrats left any longer without some figurehead. They know the rank-and-file are pissed about wasting several years of their lives.

Dan La Botz, a has been, has written an article. The important information in the article is that Chris Hedges was PP’s Judas in working out the Green party deal. Howie, per his comments on West, is clearly determined to keep fighting and stop another attempted entryist invasion of the party.

Socialist Alternative has given a pre-endorsement pledge. They are most likely waiting for him to be the Green party nominee.

Not too surprising.

I'm mostly curious what other socialist parties are doing. I could imagine the SPUSA also tentatively backing Cornel West (as the did Hawkins), but others (SEP, SWP, PSL, WWP, Socialist Action, and FSP, if they're still a thing) likely wouldn't, and I'm wondering what they'll get up to.

2000 tarred third party reputations as spoilers, at least for the left, forever, sorry

No candidate with anything to lose wants to commit political suicide

So then what third parties need to do is combat the "spoiler" label and point out that those who want to restrict ballots are, by definition, anti-democratic.

I agree that leftists who run independent or third party are tarred as such, but that certainly doesn't make it accurate, and that certainly doesn't mean they should lie down and continue letting people make those accusations against them.
