Give this to me with my coffee every autumn Sunday morning for the rest of my life.

img

This seems flawed... MSU shouldn't be in the Good O Good D category by any stretch

The defense just held dominant Michigan to 5 field goals when most others would have conceded 5 TDs. A P5 team is going to have to be almost unbelievably bad at one or the other to fall outside the box. Just pretend that it the P5 box and divide it into the quarters you yearn to see.

I wrote a friend before the game, 15% chance to beat UM, but <1% chance to beat Illinois based on gut feeling alone. Illinois' surprisingly atrocious offense indicates that may not be true statistically but it just feels like a game MSU will lie down for anyway. Their offense surely isn't good enough to score on Illinois. 23-6.

Tennessee vs. Georgia will be the 25th time the AP #1 and #2 teams have met in a regular season game, and the 53rd time including postseason games.

Army
Tulane
Kentucky
Texas A&M
Purdue (if it weren't for the fact Kirk Ferentz signed a contract extension in January, I'd speculate that he might be getting fired).
Virginia Tech
Temple
Old Dominion
Oklahoma (both teams have not been playing well this season)
Louisiana Tech
Tennessee (I said last week I would pick Tennessee over Georgia and I'm sticking to it. If the Volunteers can beat Alabama, they can beat anyone in the SEC).
Oklahoma State (it looks like Kansas will not be bowl-eligible this season either)
Pittsburgh
UCF
Stanford
West Virginia
Troy
Alabama (Imagine a scenario where Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee all finish at 11-1. Which SEC team (or more than one SEC team) makes the playoff?
Kansas State
San Diego State
Houston
Clemson
Louisville
Florida State
NC State

First playoff rankings come out this week.

My guess as to what the first top four will look like:

1. Tennessee
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State
4. Clemson

Just missed: TCU, Alabama, Oregon, UCLA, USC

Reading a Michigan board during games is like an election night thread of just D-MA

Try looking at Michigan twitter, Michigan fans are scum.

Are you under the impression that I’m an MSU fan? UM fans are just all doomers. We are not the same

No I wouldn't expect the critical thinking to break out of the Blue Wall from an Atlas user

Brian Harsin out as Head Coach at Auburn.

Auburn instantly becomes the top available job right now.

Best guesses as to who the next head coach at Auburn will be:

Former Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer

Former Carolina Panthers Head Coach Matt Rhule

Alabama Offensive Coordinator Bill O'Brien

Liberty Head Coach Hugh Freeze

Kentucky Head Coach Mark Stoops

The top candidate here is Lane Kiffin. Kevin Steele and Jeff Grimes are less sexy names but probably should be mentioned here.

Also, remarkable how you somehow failed to mention Deion at a job where he actually would be a decent candidate, despite penciling him in at every open job up till now, yet still shoehorn in Urban despite him not being a fit here.

Auburn is not a better job than Wisconsin lol, but I'd say Auburn is #2.

Auburn is the top job in theory, of course, but I don't think it'll escape candidates that Harsin gave up a good job only to be disliked after a year and tossed before his second season ended. Auburn can pay as well as anyone and is a place where you can reach the very top, but it is also a place where you will be expected to consistently beat both Georgia and Alabama with less talented players. I think that'll make a lot of coaches hesitate. Before anyone says anything, yes I am aware of the irony of saying this given what my own school did with its last coach.

I think you're thinking of Dan Mullen.

I've only mentioned Deion Sanders for one job?

The MSU players involved are the ones who will see some consequences.  They've been suspended and the police are investigating with the possibility of criminal charges being filed.
