Nyvin - It appears you posted the link to your Senate map twice.

Corrected, that was a lot of links to post at once lol

Here's the House map again -

Wisconsin Supreme Court refuses to reconsider ruling ordering new legislative maps

Quote
The liberal-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday refused to reconsider its ruling ordering the drawing of new legislative maps, rejecting a request from Republican lawmakers to put its December order on hold.

The court ruled 4-3 on Dec. 22 that the current maps, drawn by Republicans, are unconstitutional and must be redone in time for the November election. Friday is the deadline for parties in the lawsuit, which includes state lawmakers and Democratic Gov. Tony Evers, to submit new maps.

Consultants hired by the Supreme Court will review those submissions and issue their own report, and perhaps their own maps, by Feb. 1. State elections officials have said maps must be in place by March 15 to be in play for the 2024 election.

Supposedly plaintiffs propose a 17 Biden - 16 Trump state senate map and 51 Biden - 48 Trump state house map, with both maps having many competitive seats

Here are said maps. Hey, that Dane setup is familiar, but I  mean, we all know something like that was desired given the push for corrective gerrymandering and inspirations from Michigan.  However,  the plaintiffs didn't do enough in the Milwaukee region imo, especially when things could be much neater. Also just in general there could have been a better respecting of locality lines.  They also didn't try any tricks of numbering to get enough senate seats up in 2024 for a potential flip.

Dra links to senate and house.

Here is the dem maps. Some interesting decisions, most notably in the Kenosha/Racine area.

Here's my personal final plan, for comparison. So you can see what I personally think isn't being appropriately pursued, and what is

Tony Ever's map seems the most neat and tidy of them all.

No real jagged lines or crazy tentacles. All the Dem-proposed maps connect Oshkosh to Appleton for a Senate district.

My only gripe with Ever’s map is that the 73rd assembly district includes the Bad River Res and the city of Ashland. I get he wanted to keep the tribes together, but putting Ashland + Bad River in the 74th and swapping that with some purple townships in southern Douglas county would lead to the 73rd as being more like 56/44 D (opposed to 60/37 now) and the 74th being close to 50/50 instead of like 54-44 R. The other suggestion I would have is to put Stevens Point and Wausau in the same Senate district. A point to Black River Falls senate district just ain’t good. A Wausau to point one is much better.

Let’s bear in mind here that these maps shift from an extreme gerrymander that locks in Republican majorities to map which matches the even partisan divide of the state and gives both parties a good chance to win control, because Republicans are going to try to make a false equivalence between a “Democrat map” and a “Republican map” that are equally valid.

Sam Wang on twitter posted some analysis of how fair the proposed maps are. I would expect the court to choose maps that still have a slight GOP tilt but winnable for dems in a good year.

Smart to do it now. Dems should get a very blue leaning WI-3 with western Dane County and a slightly blue WI-1 when this ends.

Yeh, to absolutely no one's surprise, the map proposed by republicans in the legislature is absolutely laughable compared to every other proposal, and by a mile.

Here it comes...

Sounds like there was a line in the legislative maps ruling that stated that the least change metric that the prior court stated would be a guideline for deciding the current maps was incorrect and that will be the precedent that the petitioners are planning on using in this case.

Wow, sounds like Vos might accept Evers' maps without the changes made by the Senate. We might actually get a deal here.

Absolutely fantastic news. "Least change" metric was always an incredibly bulls*** legal move invented out of whole cloth by the former republican majority on the court to give their blessing to continued GOP gerrymandering, as obviously doing next to nothing to viciously gerrymandered maps would continuously keep producing.....viciously gerrymandered maps.

Sounds like Evers plans to veto the legislature's modified versions of his maps. Word is there has been zero communication between legislative Republicans and the Governor. Word is the next step should be the consultants releasing their findings on 2/1/2024, not sure what that will fully entail.

Evers to veto maps passed by Assembly which were basically his map with some tweaks that mostly benefited the GOP.

I'm assuming republicans lack the votes to override Evers' veto?

Correct.   They have it in the Senate, but not the Legislature.
