Why are there morons in the UK destroying 5G towers believing that 5G causes Corona? Beyond stupid. That behavior better not spread to the US in any meaningful way.

It already has.

Visualized unexpected deaths in NYC.

So the deadliest month in NYC after this month and 9/11 was January 2000. Did Y2K actually happen and get covered up?

People can will themselves into the next century just to say they lived in two. I look forward to say three at the ripe young age of 106.

I don't think I'm gonna make it...I'd be pushing 150. Smiley

Aw.  When I saw worldstar, I was hoping for a good old-fashioned high school brawl.

It’s bit disingenuous not to be comparing their death rates to Italy, Spain, France, UK, etc. The reason they aren’t is because it would ruin the narrative...
How is it?
Those countries started way earlier than Sweden in their trajectories.
The only country that probably shouldn’t be on there is the US...
Comparing Sweden to similar neighbors is not disingenuous.
Comparing Sweden to Italy would be.

1999-2000 was a bad Flu season. Not sure if that's the cause but I do remember that.

Visualized unexpected deaths in NYC.

So that seems to imply that there are a number of corona deaths not currently counted as corona deaths, no? Or is there a gap between when a death happens and when it can be confirmed to be caused by covid?

The other possibility is deaths related to the mental health toll of the shutdowns, which is probably not a negligible number.

Fair point, I guess there's also a question of how the virus has effected treatment of other health problems.

Since the shutdowns are caused by the virus, these would also be indirectly caused by the virus.

This * 1 million. And if you're not moved by this to say maybe, just maybe, I made a mistake in supporting Trump, then Inks you. You're irredeemable.

And a special What the Inks?!? to the mod who previously who deleted this post as "inappropriate" because I had the letter f followed by 3 asterisks instead of the word "Inks". News to me that nearly entirely expunged curse words were still somehow still violated TOS. A real act of lazy moderation--at best--to delete an entire post rather than remove/substitute the two offending words as is often done.

Though I have my strong suspicions as to whom deleted the post, and it's pretty clear he took the opportunity to remove a posting he was simply uncomfortable with the sentiment of. Roll Eyes

The EMTs and firefighters who are witnessing the deaths in NYC firsthand are saying they belive the majority of the deaths are Covid-19 illnesses. I trust their speculation more than some random person on the internet. I also haven't found anything tangible about increased suicides outside of economist arguing we will have this. There has actually been a decrease in homicides in many American cities but I can't find data on suicides, please link if you have any.

Also people all of a sudden caring about suicides because of the economy, where have you been for 2 decades when suicide rates have skyrocketed because of "deaths of despair" and the very same economy.

Or coronadeaths not in hospitals, but in rest homes or at home, who were not tested.

This BBC report on increased restrictions in Moscow is worth watching all the way through (about 3 minutes):

Quote
THREAD: This is the true human cost of #COVID that you don't see on TV very often. CNN obtained photos from ER staff at a Detroit hospital, showing bodies pilled up in vacant spaces because the morgue was full. Nearly 1,500 people have died in Michigan, and 23,000 nationwide.

I have linked to the tweet rather than embedding it because it contains images that some people may find disturbing.

My local hospital reporting 2 staff and 3 patients infected. Not sure if that means "3 infected patients" or "___ patients had COVID-19 and spread it to an additional 3 patients that were hospitalized for different reasons".

Imagine Hillary putting Chelsea and her husband in charge of a committee for the National I Love Puppies Day. Republicans would call for her impeachment, arrest, conviction, and summary execution.
