Romney is looking GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

The Comeback Kid!

I just wanted to let you know that I hate you and Mitt Romney.

Your very bitter remarks do not bother me, however, only a very immature individual tells someone they hate them.

Hate is a very strong word, and unbefitting of any thinking, rational person.

The "Who brings change?" part of the exit is interesting in that it may reflect second choices. While each candidate led their own grouping, some led it more widely than others.

Only 39% of Giuliani supporters thought Giuliani would bring needed change. 28% thought Romney would, 20% thought McCain, and 10% thought Huckabee.

79% of Huckabee supporters thought Huckabee would bring needed change. 9% thought McCain would, and 5% thought Romney.

87% of McCain supporters thought McCain would bring needed change. 7% thought Romney would.

A surprisingly low 52% of Paul supporters thought Paul would bring needed change. 18% thought Romney would, 12% thought McCain, and 9% thought Huckabee.

88% of Romney supporters thought Romney would bring needed change. No one else came above 5%.

55% of Thompson supporters thought Thompson would bring needed change. 34% said Romney would, and 5% each said Giuliani and Huckabee would.

Romney won liberals 31-28.  I don't understand.

However, McCain won Democrats by a fairly large margin.

Democrats voting for Romney because he is the worst candidate, in their opinion, and thus are trying to make the results more advantageous. We have our own Democrats for Mitt movement on the forum.

I noticed that.  BTW, he meant Reagan and George W. Bush (according to Ari Fleischer)

Yeah, ok. I heard Ari, too, and of course he would say that.  Tongue

Don't take everything on this forum so seriously.  That's the best advice I can give to you.

Romney is currently in the lead in the delegate race with 18 of 30 delegates from MI committed.

Romney currently has 40 delegates (10 from MI)
Huckabee has 21
McCain has 10 (8 from MI)

You're right. I try to stay away from "hate" when it comes to this stuff. So instead I use "strongly dislike" and I strongly dislike Mitt Romney.

Strategy by the Democrats.  McCain is a better November candidate than Romney, and thus the Democratic Party urged their voters to vote for Romney so they could have an easier time winning in November.

Democrats urged voters to vote for Romney because it would make the nomination process longer and more interesting, not because of any electability arguments.

I'm pretty sure that McCain had 10 delegates *before* MI....seeing as how he would have gotten more than 2 delegates from winning NH.

You're right.  That is a typo -- he has 18

Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina says if McCain wins South Carolina, he has the nomination wrapped up.

Huh?  Maybe people taking the exit poll didn't understand the questions.

Hell... looking at the results I am wondering if most people in the voting booth understood the question.

Thank you Phil.

I never liked the use of the word "hate", anywhere, anytime.

I know you, and many others, hold very strong opinions about Romney, and although I very obviously do not agree with your views on Romney, I nonetheless respect your right to hold these views.

Romney's at 39.7. He better not screw up my prediction by increasing .3 points.

You can't really trust any of the internals for demographic groups for which the sample size was small.  Only 11% of those voting in the GOP primary identified themselves as liberal, and only 7% as Democrats.....so we can't be sure exactly how those groups voted.

As the campaign moves onto Super Tuesday, no matter who you support, no matter whether you like it or not, it is going to take big bucks for any candidate to be competitive across all those states.

McCain, Giuliani, and Huckabee better get the bucks rolling in, and I mean big time.

I am simply being realistic.

I was the only person to guess Mitt Romney would win over 35%; my guess, 36%, is now four points off his current total. This is a stunning win for Romney.
