Giuliani's strategy of getting zero delegates and as many 6th place finishes as possible seems to be going according to plan.

Boo to Romney...

I can't see McCain being hurt too much by this since he seems to be running a strong second in a state where the Romney family has had a significant presence.

Romney obviously can live to fight another day, and while the fact no clear frontrunner has emerged obviously helps Giuliani, Mitt will likely take whatever momentum he has from here into Florida and possibly give the coup de grace to Rudy...unfortunately.

I hate it when this happens.  For some reason, every single Republican primary has been boring and called quickly.  Opposite for the Democrats.

Romney's looking very good for the nomination now. He'll probably win Nevada and get a strong third in South Carolina, and then he just needs to outspend McCain in Florida again.

And, Michigan is historically very slow in displaying results.

BIG blow to McCain. I think McCain will drop a little in the polls now. SC will be Huckabee for sure now.

Feb 5 will derail him, methinks

ROMNEY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROMNEY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROMNEY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROMNEY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This nomination is now a REAL contest!

Spin it how you like.

ROMNEY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romney won the REPUBLICAN vote.

Romney did well amongst independents, McCain 36%, Romney 26%.

Romney won conservatives, the Republican base, Romney 42%, McCain 22%.

The Democrats DID NOT, OBVIOUSLY, win this primary form Romney.  Get real.

Romney's back on track.

His message on the economy and jobs paid big dividends.

See I don't think so. The Republicans aren't falling in line behind anyone yet and there's still three more primaries to go. If you get three or four primary winners going into Feb. 5 there's going to be no 'flocking' to one candidate or another. I see the vote fracturing with Romney getting a sizable chunk, simply on account of his financial resources delivering votes the way others' can't.

This party better not rally around this idiot. He had his gold medal tonight but it's time to shut this guy out of every remaining contest.

Just a thought, does anyone think Giuliani is doing artificially poorly?

I mean is it possible that the number of Giuliani supporters is much higher in Michigan than he's currently receiving (rather will receive by nights end)...

I guess what I'm asking here is, are Giuliani supporters tactically voting to ensure there's no frontrunner by the time Giuliani's states come into play (Florida...New York etc...)

Or has he just completely collapsed?

Indeed...I like Huckabee a lot more (really, if he weren't a populist, he'd probably be my favorite)...but if Romney's the nominee, for sure I will be voting Democrat...unless its John Edwards on that side...in which case I pray Bloomberg runs

I have to completely agree with you Phil. The GOP would be kissing the election goodbye if they nominated grade A buffoon Romney. McCain is the only chance of success for the Republicans don't give the nod to the used car salesman when you have a guy who could actually have a shot in the general election waiting in the wings.

If Romney wins I will not be voting Republican. Doesn't mean I'll be voting Democrat, especially if Hillary gets the nod, but I would never vote for Mitt.
