Trump using a last minute shady rationale to delay his legal reckoning? Must be a day ending in day.

Like clockwork:

I think they should be able to ask him about anything he testifies about (not that that's going to happen).

Trump is now suing the judge. You cannot make this up.

It's so clear that he's guilty and deathly afraid of this trial.

If suing the judge could delay your trial, I think defendants might have figured it out a long time ago.

Hope he's eventually fined significantly for bringing a frivolous lawsuit.

Once again, the idea that Trump is being treated unfairly or politically persecuted is complete nonsense. He has been given every bit of leeway and privilege that would never be afforded to an ordinary person.

Literally anyone else would already be behind bars.

Trump really doesn't want to be sitting in that courtroom on Monday morning.

I assume the trial will not be live-streamed, but will any cameras be allowed in the courtroom at all for anything?

Video cameras, no, Merchan didn't allow any into the courtroom to cover last year's arraignment like Engoron let in to start each day in the civil case, so maybe he does what he did for the arraignment & lets 5 news photographers in at the start of each day to take still pics of Trump appearing, but they'd presumably have to leave once the day's proceedings get going.

I don't even see why it would need to delay the trial since it doesn't affect the trial. It affects his speech rights but only while the trial still hasn't happened yet lol. Desperate times for Donny.

Doesn't it also cover what he's allowed to say while the trial is in progress?

I guess what I mean is when the trial is over the gag order is gone (I think?) so the sooner that happens the sooner he gets his personal attack rights back that he's whining about so much. Delaying the trial is antithetical to that goal. Of course he's using all of it just as a means to an end (delay).

Avenatti in prison interview: Trump ‘will be convicted’ in hush money trial

Quote
Former attorney Michael Avenatti predicted Tuesday that former President Trump will be convicted in the New York hush money trial slated to begin next week.

In an interview from prison, Avenatti told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that he believes Trump will be convicted in the hush money trial when asked what he thinks is “wrong” with the case.

“You know, I think the case has a lot of problems. Now that does not —I don’t mean to suggest that that means that Trump will not be convicted because I think he will be convicted,” Avenatti said.

...

Avenatti, who was Daniels’ former attorney, is currently serving time in prison for stealing book proceeds from his former client. An appeals court last month held up a 2022 ruling that sentenced him to four years in prison and required him to pay $148,000 in restitution and forfeit the roughly $297,000 that prosecutors say he stole from Daniels.

Trump's lawyers just filed *another* appeal in this case. It's getting pretty clear that they're very desperate and Trump is deathly afraid of this trial.

I value Redban's opinion of this case more highly than Avenatti's.

As Melber explained it, none of this would be happening if he hadn't pushed the issue so that's why I think it's newsworthy.

'I don't have any files for you,' man tells Trump's lawyers after they subpoena wrong person
Attorneys in Trump's hush money case subpoenaed the wrong Jeremy Rosenberg.

Quote
There are multiple Jeremy Rosenbergs in New York City, as former President Donald Trump's attorneys found out Tuesday after they sent a subpoena to the wrong one.

Last month, Trump's attorneys in his criminal hush money case in Manhattan sought to subpoena the Jeremy Rosenberg who was a supervising investigator in the Manhattan district attorney's office.

Instead, according to court filings revealed Tuesday, the subpoena went to another Jeremy Rosenberg living in an $8 million Brooklyn home.

"I don't have any files for you," that Rosenberg wrote to defense attorney Todd Blanche, per the court filings.

Furthermore, that Rosenberg wrote, "I'm keeping the fifteen dollars" Blanche had provided to help him pay the cost of sending the requested documents.

I think there might have been an X about this but there's the story.

Does Trump just have unlimited opportunities to appeal? I assume not, otherwise literally every defense attorney would do this.
