Yes, America and the world need him to lose the election ideally, not just vacate the presidency so to speak. And Pence is probably more electable than Trump, especially if he becomes the nominee in these circumstances.

The odds that Biden is actually at risk is extremely low. Get tested, still. But lets not unnecessarily freak out.

I don't think it makes sense that Trump got the virus from Hope Hicks.  Most likely Trump got the virus at the same event as Hope Hicks.

As far as I know, if Trump got the virus from Hicks, especially if he got it yesterday, it would take several days for Trump to test positive.

This is my gut reaction as well, obviously the first being far more likely. I won't completely rule out a BoJo situation with rumors that he is about to die and has a miraculous recovery at the end of October. Unfortunately that would need to be accompanied by an inexplicable election win a la an absurd episode Scandal, which I can indeed rule out. His people are not competent enough to quietly fix that while the nation is distracted.

I was in (Republic of) Georgia when Hillary had her health scare at the 9/11 memorial in 2016 and people asked me if I thought it would hurt her chances. I said no because Americans don't really care about that sort of thing. Turns out I was wrong and that was actually one of the big inflection points of the campaign. People don't want to vote for someone they see as old and weak, even if they have personal sympathy for their situation. If Trump is asymptomatic, I don't think this changes much. But if he's coughing, sweaty, and short of breath for several weeks, I think he's headed down the same path as Hillary.
