Bitecofer seems to be doing everything she can to be thrown off of the island of Elections Forecaster Twitter. Like, the only thing G. Elliott Morris, Dave Wasserman, Nate Silver, and Nate Cohn agree on anymore is "Bitecofer makes us all look bad."

This could just be a ploy to get out of further debates. It's interesting that someone near the President suddenly tested positive for the virus right after he had a huge meltdown on stage. Quarantine is a perfect way to avoid the next debate. They could even maneuver the situation to get Pence out of debating Harris.

Why would they do that? They're losing right now and they have to know that. They need the debates to have the chance to turn the campaign around, what's the difference between losing by 10 and losing by 20? Also having Trump in quarantine puts all the spotlight on COVID-19, easily Trump's worst issue, one where he has basically no arguments in his favor and which he has desperately tried to get out of the news.

In a way even if Trump ends up being fine
the news still hurts him a lot since it will most likely overshadow the upcoming jobs repot

If that Jobs repot turned out to be great Trump could have easily used that to try and convince voters that things were going in the right direction. He most likely would have even held a press conference just to hype up his final jobs report before the election

but now none of that matters because instead of focusing on any of that He will be quarantined and waiting for the test results for Covid.

I say this to people all the time.  After 8 years the other party usually wins because there's an itch for change after that long.  Trump is basically running as a 4 term incumbent.

If Trump really does not want to debate again then the campaign has to come up with some reason to get him out of it that doesn't look like he is just backing it. This administration and campaign has little political acumen so any ploys they have aren't going to make much sense. It just seems like to me they would have covered up Hicks testing positive instead of letting it become public.

I think Trump would be worried about revealing it out of fear of cementing a loss.
Plus he is an arrogant man child and does want to be seen as invincible by his cult, a positive Covid test doesn’t exactly help.
