It's now being reported that Hicks is experiencing some symptoms (I hope for her sake that it's mild).

Nevertheless, it places tremendous pressure for Trump to stop campaigning for at least several days.  And with this, the clock is running out quickly.

It's so unfair that Trump hasn't gotten COVID yet.

Biden campaign should insist on a negative test before Trump shows up.  It could be a big news story if Trump declines.

In fairness, we don't know if he hasn't. If he did, then chances are no one would know because of national security reasons.

Although if he has gotten it, he's been hiding it pretty well. He's 74, obese, and has heart disease (which, taken together, should've been enough for the hydroxychloroquine to kill him!).

I doubt this. Trump personally would want to debate Biden every night if he could. He doesn't have the ability to understand how disgusting he looks on television.

It's probably not to excuse the debate as Trump didn't complain of any symptoms then or now.  It might actually deter Biden from a future debate though.  I kind of think this is real and unsurprising, they are recklessly disregarding the science on this.

That would create a situation somewhat similar to 1872, when Horace Greeley's death after the election, but before the Electoral College met, resulted in his electors scattering their votes among several different candidates. Obviously, as you just noted, it wouldn't be so fractured this time, but so long as Biden wins the Electoral College, it will not matter.
