Uh, so what are the implications of this?

Not much? In many (most?) states, the voter files are publicly accessible, usually for a relatively small fee.

This is more "election interference" but Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are donating $300m for election integrity. I'm quoting his ridiculous bs announcement here so no one has to go on the hell site that is Facebook.

Quote
I'm concerned that our country's election infrastructure faces many new challenges this year because of the Covid pandemic. There will be historic levels of voting by mail, and increased need for poll workers and equipment to support contact-free voting. Election officials across the country are working hard to ensure that everyone can vote and every vote can be counted -- and we want to help make sure they have the resources they need to do this.
Priscilla and I are personally supporting two non-partisan organizations that are working to make sure every voter's voice can be heard this November. We are committing $250 million to the Center for Tech and Civic Life to provide funding for local counties to have the staffing, training, and equipment they need. This will go towards recruiting poll workers (including hazard pay and training), renting polling places, buying PPE for poll workers, providing temporary staffing, supporting drive-through voting, and more. We are committing another $50 million to The Center for Election Innovation & Research that will go to Secretary of State offices across the country -- in both red and blue states -- that are working to ensure states' electoral systems are secure and voters are informed.
This is in addition to the work that Facebook is doing to run the largest voting registration campaign in American history -- with a goal of helping more than 4 million people register to vote and providing authoritative information about topics like how to vote by mail in each state.
Voting is the ultimate way we hold our leaders accountable and make sure our country is heading in the direction we want. It is critical for our democracy that we all have confidence in the integrity and legitimacy of our elections, and that means having confidence that our country has the infrastructure to make sure every voter can make their voice heard. I'm grateful to everyone doing your part to respond to this year's unprecedented challenges and I'm proud to support you in your work.

Screw this asshole. He's legitimately one of the worst people on the planet. This would be like someone setting your house on fire and giving you a squirt bottle to try to put out the fire.

Uh, so what are the implications of this?

Not much? In many (most?) states, the voter files are publicly accessible, usually for a relatively small fee.

From the (translated) article:
Quote
They contain the following lines: name, date of birth, gender, date of registration, address, postal code, e-mail, voter identification number and polling station number, Kommersant was convinced. According to the author, the data is current for March 2020. The InfoWatch Group of Companies "Kommersant" confirmed the authenticity of this database, specifying that it initially "leaked" at the end of 2019
Quote
Such leaks can be used for political purposes: to study the preferences of voters, aim them at one or another choice, or even persuade them to protest, says Andrey Arsentiev, head of analytics and special projects at InfoWatch. But more often, he said, the databases serve primarily as valuable information for scammers, since the voter lists contain all the basic information about people. Vladimir Dryukov, director of the Solar JSOC monitoring and response center at Rostelecom, suggests that the hackers themselves, who initially took possession of the databases, have already "obtained all the commercial benefits" before they are made publicly available.

They're getting even less subtle. (Amusingly, my ISP flags armyfortrump.com as malicious.)

This is a recap of stuff that's already been posted in this thread, but nicely sets out how the Trump Administration appears to be demonstrating a pattern of acting against US election security in the run-up to the election.

As expected, the Georgia SoS has appealed a federal judge's ruling that absentee ballots may be counted if received up to three days after Election Day (if postmarked by then).

Russians invaded our election systems. How deep have they gotten in 2020 with Trump admin doing nothing since they're working on his behalf?

“Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,”. The next day Russia released the hacked emails. Our Traitor in chief is a Russian intel asset.

Obama was weak on Russia, especially with the Crimea and the 2016 election, but he is not compromised by the Russians, like Trump.

Our only hope at this point is that the Chinese are able to rig things just enough to counterbalance the Russians. C‘mon Xi, do your thing.

Wisconsin has to send out overseas ballots soon. In my opinion, the only option for them is to side with the State Board of Elections to allow the state to follow the deadline.
