It'll be awhile before we know about Illinois: https://www.newsweek.com/kanye-west-ballot-petition-gets-challenged-illinois-over-signatures-1521170

There's a hearing to discuss the challenges next week and then one August 21 before a final decision is made. One challenge claims less than 1000 of his signatures are valid, which would not surprise me.

Looks like his campaign committed signature fraud in NJ:

This is what happens when you pay people per signature, rather than per hour, they want to get more at any cost.

Just because you have money to burn doesn't mean you should burn it.

West has 1327/800 signatures in NJ but who knows how many will be thrown out. Interesting to note he didn't file as a Birthday/BDY party candidate or an Independent here, but rather under a name that rolls of the tongue well: "SLOGAN PENDING".

To put that in perspective, the unapologetically Marxist-Leninist Party for Socialism and Liberation attained 1589 signatures. The completely unheard of Unity Party has 1100 signatures.

No word yet on if Missouri approved West's petition and no word yet on if Illinois is gonna rule the challenge to West's signatures as valid.

Right now I'd say we can reasonably assert West probably will be on the NJ ballot come November.

If I'm not mistaken, aren't the August 3rd (Pennyslvania) and August 4th (Wisconsin) ballot deadlines the last real opportunities for Kanye to make an impact on the election?  As far as I can tell, the deadlines for all the other potential tipping point states have either passed (FL, MI, NC), or require so many signatures that making the ballot appears extremely unlikely (AZ).

Tomorrow is the deadline for Pennsylvania. The next day, Wisconsin. The day after that, Ohio. So we'll have some interesting news soon.

The NJ petition goes before an administrative judge on Tues. Apparently, the Kanye "campaign" tried to get it moved to the 10th but were denied.  Don't know if the judge goes through the challenged signatures line by line or just takes in the evidence presented that day and rules later.

The petition is also being challenged on the grounds that West has not yet submitted the names of those who circulated petitions as required by New Jersey law.  Also,  half of the electors named by the West petition are not registered in New Jersey.

On the one hand, Wisconsin only requires a mere 1,000 signatures.

On the other hand, the deadline there is...tomorrow.

Wisconsin requires 2000 valid signatures, but campaigns cannot submit more than 4,000, which prevents them from getting an adequate buffer which I would think might make Wisconsin one of the more difficult states to get on the ballot in.

Kanye's campaign has missed the 12:00 deadline in Kansas and will not be appearing on the ballot there. There hadn't been any reports of an active operation there, so it doesn't come as a surprise.

Why would Republicans help him get on the ballot in Arkansas?

I guess if you think Arkansas is safe anyway (which is very likely is) why not just take free money from a maniac?

Wait, does that mean Kanye missed the PA deadline?

Why is Kanye only submitting ballot requests in safe R states? I thought he said he wants to beat Biden.

He tried to file in NJ and IL too, but it's very unlikely he makes either one of them. (Ditto with MO, but that's a Safe R one)
