So another update: Alaska's deadline passed yesterday with no filing.

So here's the current map:

If he doesn't submit ~200K valid signatures in CA by Friday, he's mathematically excluded from 270 EV and can't appear in an official presidential debate.

This is Kanye, there's nothing stopping him from appearing on stage (other than himself)

Yo Donald, I'm really happy for you and Ima let you finish...

Maybe my take will look incredibly shortsighted in retrospect, but Kanye’s campaign is getting hardly any traction as a story. I see it discussed here and nowhere else. It’s hard to see how he makes any difference in the states where he manages to get on the ballot, even in swing states.

That's a good sign, because the less media attention he is getting the less likely he has a chance to be a spoiler.

Up today: Connecticut and California. West hasn't been reported to be trying on either, and CA is essentially impossible. We'll see if CT comes through, though.

That turncoat Bernie Sanders has moved to Wisconsin and signed Kanye's petition

There are screen shots of a couple other pages of the Wisconsin petitions including Mickey Mouse and Kanye West himself signing it.  Besides that, there are other problems with the submitted pages that will be hard to get enough confirmed as valid.

Washington too I believe. Only requires 1000 signatures but I haven't heard of any efforts to collect them there.

I haven’t seen much yet about his Wisconsin efforts. Is there actually a lot to suggest his efforts there might not succeed?

He seems to have made it in Arkansas and West Virginia. He almost certainly won't in Wisconsin and Illinois, and Ohio could go either way but seems favorable to him. I'm not sure about Missouri.

The people Kanye paid submitted 2422 signatures, they need 2000 to be valid to be accepted.  There's also the problem that the petition was likely submitted after 5PM which was the deadline and there is a legal history of petitions being rejected even two minutes after the deadline.

Red = not on ballot
Blue = on ballot
Green = still pending review
Gray = deadline hasn't passed

So if Kanye doesn’t get on the California ballot he’s below 270 right?

The Hawaii deadline was Wed  and he didn't file there either.  Supposedly his next target is Montana.

I'm reading for a signature to be valid in Wisconsin it must: 1-be from a registered Wisconsin voter and 2-that voter has not voted in a partisan primary for at least a year, including the upcoming 8/11 primary. If a voter votes in that, they retroactively void their signature as they're no longer considered an independent.

If that is true then Kanye's chances in Wisconsin are basically zero.

Kanye off ballot in IL.

Didn't someone say that on average 60% of signatures are usually struck, so serious campaigns usually   send in a lot more than the minimum? If so, this was predictable, and Wisconsin will likely end up denying him...not just for the reasons explained by other posters.

This is the only place online I've seen where people care enough to discuss it. If it wasn't for this forum, I'd forget he was running.

But don't let me stop the serious discussion about this serious campaign

To us it's just a curiosity and we enjoy tracking his ballot access statuses. I don't think anyone here except a few of the usual suspect concern trolls expect him to actually impact the election.
